It just means our government is really bad at spending money wisely and effectively.

What's your solution - give them more money to throw at it?

No, improve the government. There is a good reason we spend more. For starters, think about the duplicated bureaucracy from each city and county running their own independent school, tax and poilce system versus Canada or Australia, which these are run by the state or province. Republicans call this smaller government, in the private sector and amongst conservatives abroad, we call this wastage; as while you have smaller governments, you end up with a larger overall government workforce.

Sure *if* you have insurance and aren't tripped up by any of the exclusions; or if you have enough money to pay for care out of pocket.

the US has the highest rates of recovery and successful treatment. Thank you for acknowledging it. Despite universal health insurance in other countries, they fall behind. The rationing and delays in other countries more than offset the uncovered people here. Apparently enough of us DO have health insurance or can afford it. That means we are better. You don't have to like it...or care.

Anything else you care to enlighten us on that you know nothing about? I mean besides health care and Vermont history?

Can the liberals put up anyone that knows anything for a fact? Stephen stumbles all over his d1ck when he tries to post something that isn't a copy and paste. I see he is back to links we didn't ask for. can someone give some parental supervision to him?

You are right on one thing. I am liberal. Well, the Australian conservative party (center-right) is known as the liberals. Unfortunately your stereotype ends there bud. I am definitely no libertarian, that's for bloody sure..

What are your sources? Well, apart from the obvious..

Booyah. I have them right here and I will post them immediately after you ask Ravenuesque for her references and she posts them. Mine are from a good source and reflect upon those she is using directly. I await your request of Ravenesque's sources.

Just don't post some Austrian horse sh-t like Matt, the other resident libertarian, tends to do.

I am keen to see the international studies you have to prove your numerous assumptions.

I know this ain't gonna be a popular recommendation, but if you got a preventable illness or something which you have advance notice of, and you don't want to pay $178,000 for a bypass surgery, go to Thailand or Brazil. They got one of the best hospitals in the world and only cater to westerners. Treat you like royalty and their facilities and services are like 5-star hotels.

My mom was quoted $40,000 for dental work in Canada. She went to China for a couple of months and got it done for $4,000. The workmanship as comparable.

Ya, take your business out of America...see how long America's medicare will keep their high cost up.

I don't know of any such hospitals in Brazil.

But you're spot on regarding Thailand.

My wife used to work here before she came to the US. It's awesome.

I never have and never would claim you were a libertarian. Are you confusing me with someone else? I also did not stereotype you.

I am happy and not complaining. Some liberals seem to be very upset, but i am quite pleased. I welcome your acknowledgement of the free market system at work though. Some others here won't.

Now you are sterotyping me. I am keen to see you demand someone that agrees with you to cite their source. Still waiting.
