Quick simple questions: AOS Evidence.

I have seen a few mixed responses about the Copies/Photocopies so I wanted to get the best answer.

1. Do copies of the Birth Certificates need to be certified anymore?

2. Do copies of Birth Certificates we have translated need to be Certified Birth certificates OR only Certified by the Translator of the document?

3. Is there any specific documents I should have notarized during the AOS process?

Thank you all!

I'm not sure what a certified copy of a foreign birth certificate is. Translations need to be certified by the translator of the document. The translator only needs to "certify" that he/she is fluent in both Thai & English. Regarding #3 - no.

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

I confirm what rsn wrote

You don't have to certified any of this documents

every foreign document you need to translate to English

and submit copy of that document, too

no need to spend money on translation,

ask someone who speak fluently English and Your native language, and certify so at the end of translation

"I certify that I am competent to translate from [the language of the document] to English and

that the above “Birth Certificate of Bgdave” is a correct and true translation to the best of my knowledge and belief.

Signed: [translator’s full name]

Address:

Telephone:

Date: "

good luck
