Retardlican Senator Brown: Flying planes into IRS buildings is understandable, because people are frustrated

Brown: Well it's certainly tragic and I feel for the families obviously being affected by it.

And I don't know if it's related, but I can just sense not only in my election, but since being here in Washington, people are frustrated. They want transparency, they want their elected officials to be accountable and open and talk about the things that are affecting their daily lives. So I'm not sure that there's a connection, I certainly hope not. But we need to do things better.

Cavuto: Um, you know invariably people are going to look at this and say, well, that's where some of this populist rage gets you. Isn't that a bit extreme?

Brown: Well, yeah, of course it's extreme. You don't know anything about the individual. He could have had other issues, certainly. No one likes paying taxes, obviously. But the way we're trying to deal with things and have been in the past, at least until I got here is, there's such a logjam in Washington. And people want us to do better. They want us to help solve the problems that are affecting Americans in a very real way.

And I think we, I'm hopeful that we can do that, with a lot of the things that are coming forward. At least what I'm hearing through, and speaking with my colleagues this seems to be a diff feel there's kind of a message that was sent with my election, the fact that I was elected by a substantial margin taking the former Ted Kennedy's seat. They want difference up here and I'm hopeful that's going to happen.

Countdown to blaming the Tea Party, Palin, Limbaugh or Fox News 10, 9, 8, . . .

Right on time with the Daily Pus.

Where's the part where Sen. Brown blamed Obama or the Democrats? Hell, Obama himself has said before that he knows people are frustrated. His State of the Union speech must have the Hate of the Union speech.

Danno did that yesterday already.

YOu need to develop your sense of humor a bit.... if you really took my comment as a serious charge against obama for what this fruit-cake did.

There's nothing here that's outrageous, and yes, while he is not saying that what the guy did is understandable he is positioning what happened as though it part of a climate of general despair and anger.

Positioning the guy as if he were some tragic figure is imo, questionable at best, dangerous at worst. Not that I think Brown is necessarily doing this here, but it illustrates perhaps that politicians should be very careful about how they characterize these events.

Not that I think you're twisting Brown's words to make Stack look like a tragic figure, but it isn't just politicans who need to be careful how they characterize these events. You're not U.S. Senator so you get more leeway.

Sounds like my point on the other thread about how some folks are more influential than others and should be held to higher standard.

I would only be twisting his words if I knew what Brown intended and deliberately chose to characterize his statement to opposite effect. That isn't the case.

You are right that politicians are held to different standards. But politicians are politicians, regardless of whether or not they win elections.

Hey, I got all the humor you want. But you did suggest that Obama is to blame with your comment about this having been committed by an American who lost hope. I'll bring the humor if you will have the balls to stand by what you said and implied.

Strange that they are outraged now with the Socialists in power. They didn't seem so outraged when the Neocons held the reigns of power and ran up deficits that only meant more taxes down the road. And to top off them running deficits they increased the size of government that has to be paid for. They also gave a huge giveaway by the prescription plan and don't even start on the assinine war.

What exactly has obama proposed that you deem socialist?

Did you post in the right thread? Who is outraged?

Only thing that sounded insane to me about that pilot, ruining a perfectly good plane, he would have been far more effective with an AK-47 to make whatever point he was trying to make. Do agree with what Brown is trying to say, we no have representation in congress and if you ever had to deal directly with the IRS in an audit, they are no different than the German Gestapo. I would have been crucified if I didn't have a 350 buck per hour tax attorney sitting next to me.

I personally know a couple of IRS agents that quit having a conscious with some of the things they were suppose to do with people. And it's the individual they love to pick on.
