Interesting how the dirty ####### refused to accept questions. Well not really, since this stunt was probably orchestrated by some PR consultant.

People need to wake up and realize everything these guys do is staged and merely a fabricated image used to sell.

Personally, I just wish those people who are the real heroes of our society, were the ones we put on the same pedestal; like the folks doing community service, public service, helping those in need and even putting their own lives on the line to help us. Not some idiot who for genetic reasons is good at sport or singing; with the worst of them all, the reality show clown, who is basically famous for doing nothing.

I agree with your sentiment, but it's hard to ignore when the media milks it for all its worth. It wasn't like this before tabloid tv shows and 24 hours news networks came into existence. They are the ones most guilty of dragging us through other people's dirty laundry.

For me, I don't really care about the personal lives of sports people, good or bad. They are famous because of their sports abilities, not how nice they are or are not.

Studies have shown that part of our brain makes no distinction between someone we are watching doing something (a star athlete playing a sport for example) and ourselves. The theory is that this the mechanism for how we learn how to do something...from observation. The same behavior has been found in primates.

Yes, and that very simple word "observation" has taken us so far just like other animals. Wildebeests know when the rain arrives and where to go for their migration. Chimpanzees have invented their own tools to get food effectively. The new elephant matriarch always knows which route to take the herd for miles and miles of walking for food and better environment.
