Hi I have a question for anyone who knows the answer. I am in the nvc process just sent in the final packet (ds-230) I received a letter from them saying you can't add anyone one this application. I didnt think I was, my husband daughter has been on this from the beginning with the I-130. Now we are almost to the end of this process and they send me a letter saying I cant add anyone. Have you heard of this before. I asked this question way before I ever filled out the I-130 and was told by USCIS to make sure I put her on the app. and I did. Any suggestions??

Yes, my friend is going through the same process. He sent in the I-130 for his wife and not a seperate I-130 his stepdaughter because his attorney said that the daughter would not need a seperate petition because she was only 12 years of age. After his I-130 was approved I started helping him through the process and told him that I thought he needed seperate petitions but he said his attorney had told him he only needed the I-130 for his wife. So I told him he needed to send in seperate DS-230 and I-864 documents which everything was approved via electronic filing. His wife and daughter went in for the medical exams but they denied giving the daughter an exam because she did not have a case number.

His wife has been approved and she received her Visa in December. So now he has sent in the seperate I-130 for his stepdaughter in January and we are hoping that she is approved soon because with his wife receiving her Visa in December she has until June before she has to come to US.

Did you send in seperate I-130's to petition them seperately?

Please remember CR-1 have NO derivative status. Separate I130s, DS230s and I864s must be submitted.

Also take notice that NVC is administratively closing K-3s in favor of CR/IR processing. I would guess this is what happened as the OP profile says K-3 is Visa applied for.
