I will have my interview next week, i changed my mind about changing my name. Now, i decided that i want to change my name which i did not do it on the application. Can i ask the officer at the interview that i want to change my name?

Honestly I don't think you can (at the interview that is, later I know you can). BUT it certainly can't hurt to ask.

Once you have your greencard you can apply to get a new card with the married name but it costs $300 so I would definitely ask just to be sure.

I would also, personally, complete the application forms again with your new information and take them with you to the interview. That way you simply need to hand them over if they permit it. The problem is everything in the system is already in your maiden name so they might baulk at the idea but with completed forms in the new name, what excuse do they really have? It might make your interview take a little longer while they make sure that everything else on the form is the same as the originally submitted ones.

The OTHER issue is the I-864 has your maiden name on it and might need to be updated as well... You wouldn't think that's really an issue, but they might suggest it. Just an FYI. But as I said before, can't hurt to ask

Yes she can .

In the interview she can ask about changing her name without any problem. only one thing if her local office they do Aoth cermoney same day , she will not be able to take the oath untill the judge decide.

My husband did have his name changed at the interview.

I assume you are all referring to the interview for naturalization. How about the interview for permanent residency? I filed my AOS papers in my maiden name but really want the greencard to come out with my married name. I just completed my biometrics and am waiting for the EAD and AP.
