Sure, if the wording is correct why not , but have not heard that an I-551 stamp been given on any other document other than a valid passport , I have to check this cant deny this without having complete information , but once I have information about this , will surely get back to you , howz that ?

If you want to argue with the government, go ahead, but I found this on their website:

Go down to around half the page, the question is:

Q. What is the receipt rule?

Third paragraph, this is what is states:

Q. What is the receipt rule?

...

The second type of receipt that an employee may present is a Form I-94 containing a temporary I-551 stamp and a photograph of the individual, which is considered a receipt for Form I-551. The individual must present the Form I-551 by the expiration date of the temporary I-551 stamp, or within one year from the date of issuance of the Form I-94 if the I-551 stamp does not contain an expiration date.

Aren't you guys sort of arguing the same point? Form I 94 is stapled into your passport, so your passport would thus be stamped, correct?

I am not arguing, all I am doing is stating some facts, but the other dude is being extra picky today on the details

i-551 stamp cannot be given on an I-94 document , get your facts right

Why don't you get your facts straight -- lookey here http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/CRextensn120203.pdf

Exact wording is:

If the conditional resident is not in possession of an unexpired foreign passport, a Form I-94 (arrival portion) containing a temporary I-551 stamp with a 12-month expiration date and a photograph of the conditional resident.

A CONDITONAL RESIDENT WITH A GREEN CARD IN POSSESION IS NOT REQUIRED TO FILL IN A I-94 FORM ON ARRIVAL AT A POE , ANY I94 DOCUMENT WHICH THE PERSON HAS IS TAKEN AWAY AT THE TIME WHEN THE PERSON ATTENDS A I485 INTERVIEW

ONLY WAY A CONDITONAL RESIDENT CAN GET AN I-94 STAMP IS WHEN THE PERSON ENTERS AS A RESIDENT FOR THE FIRST TIME (WITHOUT HAVING A GREEN CARD IN POSSESION) , AT THIS POINT A I-94 CARD WITH A I-551 STAMP IS ISSUED AT THE POE , THIS RESIDENT THEN HAS TO GET THE ACTUAL CARD , UNTIL THE TIME THE PERSON RECEIVES THE ACTUAL CARD , THEY CAN USE THE TEMPORARY STAMP GIVEN ON THE I-94 AT THE POE

I HAVE MY FACTS PRETTY CLEAR AND STRAIGHT , YOU NEED TO GET YOURS STRAIGHTENED OUT , BEFORE POSTING READ AGAIN ESPECIALLY THE WORD ARRIVAL PORTION

If the conditional resident is not in possession of an unexpired foreign passport, a Form I-94 (arrival portion) containing a temporary I-551 stamp with a 12-month expiration date and a photograph of the conditional resident.
