As of end of December, VSC has 8,187 pending I-129F. They only processed 1,576 in December. If they process around the same amount of petitions in the months after December......the average wait is 5.2 months!! Simple math! Hate to say it, but the numbers tell the story!!!!

2009-12-03 I-129F Sent

2010-03-15 NOA2

It's too early to be disappointed. You just filed in December.

Where did you get your data anyway?

not disappointed, but giving some facts. Data coming from the USCIS website.

:star: For several months now, the USCIS website has been saying that the normal processing time for I-129F is five months. Yet, if you take a look at specific cases, you'd surely notice that some get approved in 48 days or 89 days either in VSC or CSC.

Just keep your fingers crossed that your approval soon comes.

The way that the USCIS determines the processing time is rather stupid and it does not tell you anything. Here's how they do it. They look at the current pending applications and then they begin to subtract the amount that they have received, month by month starting at the current month. If they get to 0 within 5 months, then they say the processing time is 5 months. If they have to go beyond 5 months then they say that they have a backlog. It has nothing to do with a waiting time. It's just a ratio between pending cases and received cases. Basically take the pending cases and divide by the average number they receive per month. That number is what they determine is the processing time. It really does not tell you anything about how long it takes the average person to wait. Just ignore that 5 months that USCIS says. It means absolutely nothing.
