My husband received a mail today, the forms says I-797C Notice Of Action, he was provided with a number to call, 800-375-5283 and a receipt number that can use to check on the status of the application over the phone. He did call and they ask for the beneficiaries information. They also sent back the package my husband sent them when we applied for K3 visa. They told my husband that "SOON" they were going to contact the beneficiary by mail. My question is this means we are approved? My husband didn't received any e-mail stating that we are indeed approved. What phase of the journey are we still in? Service Center or NVC? Are they really going to contact me ( beneficiary)? If this means approval...should we call them right away to schedule the date of the interview? Thanks in advance to anyone who would answer to my questions.

When did you send in your initial package? Is this the first notice you received from them or the second? The 800 number, I think, is the USCIS number. I'm confused because they said they will contact the beneficiary? That sounds like NVC.

Also, FYI, the K-3 is officially closed so you will have to go through the CR-1 route.

From what you say, if they sent you a receipt number, it is your NOA1 which is their acknowledgment of receiving your petition. NOA2 is approval of that petition, which is currently taking around 100 days.

What do you mean they sent BACK the package?

You really need to fill in your timeline for any of us to help you.

We sent our petition around October of last year. After passing the I-130 form he did receive something and he enclosed it together with the I-129f form. I was thinking that would be our NOA1.

Thanks for the reply, still working on the timeline.

The receipt notice is NOA1. NOA2 is the approval notice. We can't guess what has been received without an accurate description.

If you filed in October, I sincerely hope it is your NOA2. Need more information.

So your I-130 NOA1 was sent in with the 129f? Okay. I'm guessing your I-130 has been approved and sent to NVC? Have you called NVC? 603-334-0700 and see if they have a case number for you. Give them BOTH your email addresses if your case has been uploaded.
