It's as if a new idiot wakes up every day and thinks how do I top yesterdays idiocy.

You know, our country did well enough for many years when states issued their own currency. We also did better with an appointed Senate, not elected, no income tax, and no department of Education that doesn't educate anyone. In another thread today, things such as a currency debate are called stripping a country of its soveriegnty (Greece) but it is OK when the US government does it to the states and then substtutes worthless paper for secured currency. And then someone thinks it is "idiocy" to demand currency which is actually worth something. WOW, wereally have been turned topsy turvy.

Maybe eventually dollar bills will be replaced my the coins that are already in circulation.

Coins last longer, which is a good thing.

But being from Canada & having had the 'loonie & toonie"....the downside is that it's heavier in your wallet.

P.S. Wanted to add that I miss the Canadian "color of money".

Yeah, except when I lived in Canada I quickly learned that a pocket fll of coin can actually be worth something! Here it is barely more than lint, bu in Canada it wasn't unusual to dig in there and find $20 or so, I could buy 2-3 liters of gas with my packet change!
