I had my biometric done last September 2009 the FBI were not able to classify or recognized my fringerprints and so the immigration requested me again to retake my fingerprint for the 2nd time. And today I got a letter from immigration stating that my fingerprints were unclassifiable by FBI. Now they are requesting me to have a sign affidavit regarding any criminal history , supported by a police clearances. I dont know what to do first. I need an advice what to do. Anyone same situation I have? Does a local police clearance stating that I dont have criminal record is okay or I have to provide another papers to prove that I dont have criminal record. Please help.... I need advice!

I had a friend of mine whose fingerprints were very unclear. She went to a police station (she was in the States, and this wasn't about immigration), and had them done. She got a letter from the station stating that this was the best her prints would come out, due to the state of her fingertips. Maybe call the Embassy, see what you can do?

What I've heard from others is you go to your police station and request they provide you with an official document stating all your history records. If you have something on your record, then it will show up on their report. If you don't, then the report will not have anything against you. Then you write a short letter stating if you did something that is classified as a criminal act. If you didn't, then simply state that you, under oath, have not committed any criminal activity in the USA and elsewhere. This should be sufficient.

If you tell the police station about the FBI or show them the letter you received, they might know what to do.
