Apparently as of Dec 29th/09 it will take 5 months, do they mean 5 months before we know as to if they accept the petition or before they go two the next phase of the process

The light should start getting bigger and brighter somewhere near the end of March, so you're almost there. :star:

Current average is in the 120-days range (source) . Create a VJ timeline to get a better estimate and so it is easier to help if needed.

You're right where you should be. Your petition is waiting to be adjudicated (sadly, it's probably sitting in a file cabinet somewhere). Don't worry, I know waiting is difficult but we waited 178 days for our petition to be approved, they are moving much faster now

Good luck

You're fine.

You just read/typed their acceptance - "On November 27, 2009, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E),....blah blah blah". They just haven't gotten around to looking at your case to make a decision (welcome to 'the pile').

The VJ timeline is very slippery. For the past 2 months, every week it keeps on slipping a week for me.

20% of the cases from Oct 15 are still in initial Review.

68% of the cases from Oct 27 are still in Initial review.

74% of the cases from Nov 3 are still in Initial review.

90% of the cases from Nov 13 are still in Initial Review.

So be prepared to wait a couple more months, it's likely going to be awhile.

Are you sure?

You got an NOA-1, a receipt notice, 797-C formletter, right?

Are you worried about the APPROVAL date?

when I read the title of your post, I swear, I thought you had gone to an infopass appointment (went to found) versus having a question (want to find ) . My apologies for my confusion.

So basically, yer asking when the I-129F might be approved? USUALLY within 6 months of the NOA-1 date in the 797-C formletter.

HTH !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Congratulations on your approval ! We All Applaud your accomplishment with Most Wonderful Kissies !

Sleepy/Lindsey/Crissie,

You all filed in mid to late November. I would expect late Feb to March you should see NOA2. There appears to have been some "dead" time during the Christmas and New Year holiday and alot have been wondering.

Hang in there - it can be 3-6 months but most I have followed were more in the 3-4 month range.

Your still on the early side to be getting worried - we all know how hard the waiting is but use the time constructively. Read everything you can and plan ahead for the next steps. The more you review now the more "comfortable" and prepared you will be down the road.

Good Luck and Best Wishes

It took us five months for our I-129F to be approved. You just have to be patient. I realize its easier said than done. Usually when things are rushed they turn into #######. Think about all the people who are put into AP for long periods of time or are married and have a hard time missing their loved ones. Just read as much as you can about the next part of the process so that when the time comes, you are already one step ahead of the game. I wish you lots of luck on your journey. Be patient

You can see who's getting NOA2's among VJ'ers here: http://cse.ssl.berkeley.edu/igor/vjdata/vsc.aspx (Vermont) or here (California). I referred to this a lot while we were waiting (ours was sent on 4/1/09, NOA2 7/20/09)

After approval of the petition, there is still paperwork to be submitted to the embassy, interview, medical appt, etc.

Waiting is difficult, but there's a lot of wait time, unfortunately. You could both be working on your packet 3 paperwork, which takes more time than it seems like it should. You can shorten your waiting time after NOA2 by being ready to go to the next step.
