DS-230 signing date issue

OK here is my question and story......last April 30th, 2009 I was in Ukraine and had my wife sign and date the DS-230 for that day as well as my step-daughters DS-230. We have been in a hold pattern because of a issue with her international passport. She just received it a few weeks ago and we are ready to move forward. I already paid the $400 to NVS last May for her application and now need to pay for my step-daughters application fee. I still need a copy of her international passport. Also I brought the daughters birth certificate back to Ukraine last year because she needed it for something. We also need her police certificates. In the instructions they say they must have the originals sent to NVS of these documents. I called NVS to ask them about the dates on the DS-230 and they stated that they should be resigned since the date is over 6 months old and there are questions on the applications that reference a 6 month period. I guess I am hoping there is a easy solution to all of this and not having to hop on a plane to resign and get the originals of everything again. Of course the big factor is the money and hoping that my wife and daughter will be her soon and not have to wait to save up more money for a extra trip. Any suggestions or expertise would be much appreciated. Thank you, Al :)
