ok, its now mid febuary 2010. our noa1 was in late may 2009. received a letter from uscis on dec 9 2009 stating; processing delayed, background (mine?) investigation remains open, if you havent heard from us in 180 days(!!!!!!!!!) call 1-800- blah blah. attorney advices to WAIT. yesterday i tried calling uscis and finally talked to a lady at cvc who said she has no info. she asked me some q's in order to put our app on expedited list but i couldn't honestly say yes to any so that didnt happen. I signed up for email/mobile text notifications at uscis. I called local FBI office to see if they had any news if anyone had even checked me out. they said , its handled by DC office, not local office. this is ridiculous! i've been over to Nepal 3 times, for 5 months total in the last 14 months to be with my fiance. and now im thinking to go again next month to wait with her. so sick of this nitely webcam/instant message engagement!

my atty advises I also be present at her embassy interview in Kathmandu, which i plan to be, whenever it comes. we have a cargo container of emails/receipts/passport visas/pictures together/western union receipts/financial papers/divorce papers, etc as evidence of bonafidelity (?) can we use our camcorder videos also as evidence. like just hand them the camcorder to watch?

my atty says if i call my congressman/senator to help it mite just delay process even more? mite get ours put on bottom again. proving at interview our relationship is valid shouldnt be a problem if they look at all our evidence. a background check of me should just be a few mouse cliks away! see my/our wierd circumstances in my other post. good lord this really sucks. whats a 221g? polite responces welcomed, but dont flame at me!

Unfortunately, as much as it stinks for all of us, you're going to have to wait the amount of time they asked and then make phone calls if you have not heard from them.

Those of us who met our significant others online know what a trial it is to wait this out. My total journey with my fiance so far has been 2.5 years and we are just now getting the paperwork filed. I know how frustrating it is and how hard it is to be apart. Be happy you have the time together with internet and video. Be glad you have each other to talk to about this while you wait, and be glad the people on VJ understand you're trials and tribulations more than most ;).

It is not likely the embassy will take the video camera. I say that based on many other responses from people who said at the Embassy they tried to pass over a CD or DVD with pictures or wedding videos etc., and the COs never take them. They will only take hardcopy photos.

I am sorry to hear about your circumstances. I hope you get a good break soon.

thats really not fair if their goal is to weed out fraud marriages. anyone who watches our video's can see easily we're in love, and its a "bonafide" (whatever that means) relationship. hard pix only prove we've met but dont convey the time spent together.

Definitely attend the embassy interview, when it occurs. No electronic media are allowed in embassy interviews, including CDs and videos. Also, I'd leave the Western Union receipts behind, because they can convey the opposite impression of what you want them to. If you call CSC again, ask to be escalated to an immigration officer. If you get flak from the hired flunkie, which is 99.44% certain, stick to your guns and say that he/she is required to escalate you upon your request (this is true). Congressional inquiries are supposed to be responded to within a certain time frame (72 hours?); yours may not get you any better answers than what you have now, but at least it will draw attention to the file. Are you, the petitioner, being investigated? Why?

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

yeah, i be there, if/when we ever get to that stage. my senator and congressman got in touch w/ uscis, they said a decision w/in 45 days, but who knows yes/no/deny, ? our attorney says all info was supplied as directed so shouldn't be "request for additional". but ive been western union her money for years all thru school? i supplement ALL her families $4/day income, without me they'd almost starve! yes, i guess I'M being investigated cuz shes my 3rd one with the same last name, from the same town, and all related. (see my other posts for details.) first marriage lasted 11 years, second lasted 7. anyway im from Dallas, but i moved up here 2 years ago to put distance between my last X and her affair boyfriend there. (GRRR!) but im leaving to go meet her (fiance) in thailand for 2 months in 14 days while we wait on pins and needles. my 4th trip over there to see her in the last 15 months! dipping into my retirement big time with this!
