Hi Everyone,

I haven't been online in a few days and found this thread, well.......very familiar. Ironically, my husband called his Senator today and she said she will contact them today (send email..etc.). The same Senator called on our behalf in October when we had been waiting 9 weeks for our answer and within a week on the Senator contacting MTL we got our 2nd denial. So, now it has been 4 weeks and 3 days since MTL received our 3rd package and I figured it was about time to ask for help. My husband and I applied for the I130 two years ago today and we are still not together!!! Maybe it would have been quicker to divorce my husband, visit him in the US, get married again and then adjust status???? JUST SAYING?? Well, I wouldn't have done that, but it sure upsets me to here how some people easily obtain fraudulent VISAS!!

Just wanted to say/vent that we have now been waiting over NINE weeks for visa approval/response.

We also emailed them over a week and a half ago requesting news and NO RESPONSE (they say they will reply to you WITHIN two weeks).

<BIG SIGH> I actually feel like this whole process has affected my mental and physical health, no kidding. What a nightmare.

K

I wanted to update people on something I found out yesterday when I phoned the consulate. Yes, I actually spoke to a person! She couldn't answer any file questions, just said she had been receiving a lot of calls from people who have been waiting a LONG time (I guess for many things, interviews, processing, etc.). She was very nice and sympathetic when I said how long I'd been waiting. She also repeated the Montreal Mantra: we are severely backlogged...

Here's what I considered news: I mentioned that in the interview we were told to send additional proof in with my husband's passport. And, "if approved, you will receive your visa approval in two-four weeks." She said that 2-4 weeks is ONLY following the approval process - putting together your envelope for POE, stamping your passport, and sending it to you takes that amount of time. The actual process of reviewing your proof could take MONTHS.

Wow. Wish THAT would have been mentioned in our interview.

So, just a heads up. I understood the CO was saying that we would receive visa approval or a response (either way) in a month tops. Not so.

I haven't even sent in any info for domicile yet since I want to try to get an IR-1 rather than a CR-1 (although it seems like I don't have to worry about them looking at any submission before April). How disappointing that they are making people wait so long, especially after waiting several months just for the interview.

I wish everyone luck on this forum and I hope something happens soon for all of you!

Interesting information - what number did you use to call them?

Just the regular one listed under Montreal Consulate: 514-398-9695. Not a lot of help though, as it seems to be a central operator and she doesn't have access to any file information.

Hello everybody, I am one of those who has to wait and pray untill my case will be resolved.

The day I had my interview in Montreal, the consul congratulated me and my baby, but a day later I was informed that thay found out that I had several refusals for the visitors visa in Usa, and he was verry pissed of with me that I did not tell him about that...Well, I assumed that they have all the info on me,and answered short and to the point to all the quiestions.I was actually surprised that he did not ask me anything about those refuses.....He gave me 2 letters, one for me, the other for my baby who is now 1,4, stating that we need to provide proof of relationship, and said that if needed we will take even a DNA test for my baby. That was on January 15. on January 25 the package with all the proof was already there.I included a lot of pictures of us during different years, pictures of us with our baby, the taxes that we filed toghether in Canada for 2 years(I am not a canadian citizen, I am permanent resident in Canada, and so is my husband, who is also a USA citizen)

a fax from my private insurance, stating that I had a family coverage for almost 3 years, etc.......The letter he gave me stated that we should allow 4 weeksfrom the date the documents were submitted. It has been 4 weeks already, and nothing from them...My God, it is so difficult especially when you are alone with a baby, my lease expired, and I did not renew it...We are living now with another family in one appartmet of 2 1/2, and I wonder how much is there to wait.....I found a 1 1/2 that does not require a lease, I don't know if I should move there, my life is now one long and painful WAIT....My God.....any advise is welcome......

Hi Lillianna,

Sorry to hear of this - i'm sure you are very worried and frustrated at this point.

You mention about the entry refusals - that in itself is not a big deal, many here have been refused entry.

Did you list all of the refusals on your DS-230, question 42?

42. Have you ever been refused admission to the United States at a port-of-entry? (If answer is Yes, please explain)

I did not have refuses at the port of entry, i had my refuses at the embassy.Last time I had a refuse 2 years ago, I was pregnant with my Baby, and I wish to God that the consul back then made any notes of my conversation with her, as we had a long discussion then, where she was very supportive but still did not issue me a visa, just said to wait untill my husband gets his citizenship......I told her of all the refusals, and when the present consul brought this issue up, I told him, that I did not hide anything on purpose, and I told everything the previous consul....I wander how much time this would take, I reaaly do not know what to do , where to live, etc........

Ahh, I see what you are saying.

Well yes, that is a bid odd. I'm not sure what the consul expected you to do at your interview, did he expect you to bring it up in conversation?

Very unfortunate!

Has your Husband contacted his Senator?

Wow I really feel for everybody that has ended up waiting yet again for months just to get one or two documents reviewed. I'm a bit depressed though as well knowing that it could still be yet another couple months before my wife gets her visa, if ever. My wife gave notice before the interview as we assumed the interview was more or less a formality for us. Now she's going to need to look into getting another job while she CONTINUES to wait. Finding a place for her to live for a couple extra months is going to be trying too. This just sucks. I hope things work out soon for everybody who's been waiting much longer than we have.
