missing packet or do i have to wait?

Hi pls. help..we filed our case on October 5, 2009 we got our first notification that my fiance's petition for me was approved on 01-08-2010 and on 01-20-2010 we received notification telling us that I will soon receive a packet with instructions from the consular section on how to apply for the K1 visa at that post and what documents will be required.. but until now nothing has been received..I am not sure if it was lost or what exactly happened with the packet. I went to the US embassy last 02-16-2010 to inquire but they are of no help..they just advised me to call the 1-909-101-7878 number and my fiance called however he cant understand the reps since they speak tagalog mostly and less english..my fiance called me today and told me that based on his understanding it might be that the packet according to the rep might have been lost since generally it only takes 7 days for DHL being the courier to ship it to my former address...is there a way for me to track the packet thru DHL Phils....pls. advise I really dont know what to do..we thought by march will have the interview but it seems impossible now..thank u guys..

It is my understanding that there is no real packets sent (even if there is, you can still download the forms and fill them out), just download the forms and fill them out. Have you checked the embassy's website? Do you have manila case number? (should have still been assigned by the NVC) Your fiance can call the NVC to get your MNL case number.

He will be able to check on your case and schedule an appointment.

Thank you so much for the speedy response..yes I have my Manila case number..so in other words we just need to call the number you gave me..?? and then I can start filling out the forms necessary and then set our appointment for medical and interview?? I really appreciate your help..

Yes you can have him call that number or you can call the other number from PLDT phone and set up your interview. As far as the medical, you just have to show up at St Luke's. I have been reading on here that the best time to go is after 1pm tuesday-thurday. My wife will be doing her medical next week...we havent decided if we will get up early or wait until 1pm.

I have been reading on here that the best time to go is after 1pm tuesday-thurday. My wife will be doing her medical next week...we havent decided if we will get up early or wait until 1pm.

scottandmhay are right, once you have the MNL # that's your cue to begin the k1visa process on your side, while your fiance prepares to send you the docs from the 129f on his side (beginning w/an iterview appt and then going for the medical exam.

yes I know..I never realized that until I was there..lol..anyway thanks Zenden..I'll take that advice..I actually bought a PLDT touchcard to call the 1-909-101-7878 number but I wasnt able to connect always tells me called not allowed I guess I need to use a landline or post paid phone..I wanted to call rther than going to the embassy but my fiance asked a favor from me to visit the embassy instead of calling.. I was able to go inside of course under went a bunch of security process.I needed to leave all my electronic gadgets with the ladies outside asking for fees though.... (100 pesos) per gadget..I went to the WINDOX X and the woman told me just to call this number 1-909-101-7878..I will start tomorrow to fill out those forms and gather all the requirements..thanks again.. looking forward to this process to work as soon as possible..

You dont need to set up an appointment for St. Lukes....just have a copy of your NOA2 and your MNL case number. If you have an e-mail from the NVC print that up and bring it along.
