Jut goes to show how much Canadians love their hockey!!!! LMAO!!!

I remember my big brother used to hang off the rafters at games and come home all bruised but in a great mood. whenever mom asked him what happend he would say " a hockey game happend" LOL.

The only reason i'm into sports is because of him.. If he were alive today he would be so dang happy and proud.

After game 1 against the US, I was too scared to wager a bet in favor of the CDNs. . . . . I know I know, kick me out of the Canadian forum now. . . . . :crying:

Inappropriate posts violating TOS have been removed and posts quoting same have been removed as well. I'll go back and try to repost some of the non-violating material that had to be removed because of the quotes below:

Zansgirl: OK..NOW IT SOUNDS LIKE A HOCKEY GAME!!!!!!! WHOOOT HOOOOOO
Kimbear: ...nope sorry can't do that. it's ingrained into most of us. hell 3 chicago players are on the Canada team. Sydney Crosby, one of the best players in the NHL, is from a little town in eastern canada. Wayne Gretzky..hell the Montreal Canadians my home team, need i say more?

Maybe you should brush up on your hockey history. There is a reason most of us will not relent when it comes to hockey.

Sorry..but is is OUR game..shrug and we keep proving it.

The Treble: I wonder how Vanessa would feel if she read this. I came out of posting-retirement because I heard this was going down. How embarrassing for you to post in a Canadian form that what just happened wasn't deserved. No one even expected the USA to medal in hockey and they played super well the entire tournament. I give the team mad props. It is, however, still OUR ###### sport, whether you like it or not. Americans have baseball, basketball, football, etc. Isn't that enough? Or, do you need to add one more to your multi-billion dollar mouths? After all, isn't it the US that calls the championship of MLB the "World Series"? I always thought that "world" was a word that meant encompassing all countries.

You know what my husband did after we won? He smiled at me and said, "Are you happy?" and I said "YES!" and we both smiled. Because he knows how much this means to me, my brothers, even my mums watching the game. Is your mother watching the game? Does she care whether the US wins or loses at hockey? Will it bruise her? This is nothing more than cultural. It hits deep down. Many of us have spent many a night at the bar, watching the game, drinking labatts with our friends. Many of us, like myself, have given everything to this game. My brother is a pro in Germany in the DEL. Both my brothers played junior. Everything and every one is affected by this sport. It's our heart. What you have said, Paul, is not the facts. It's actually, surely, your opinion. If you want to talk hockey FACTS, feel free to private message me, because there aren't many people out there that spent 7 nights a week for almost 20 years of their life, like I did, at the rink...if you were one of those people, you'd understand how much this means to us. It's not entitlement, it's pride. It's that feeling we get when we sing our anthem. 100% of the people on this form love Canada with all their hearts...and you know...seeing Canada on tv for the past three weeks has made my heart swell with completely joy and envy that I couldn't be there to celebrate with my countrymen. Go to Russa, you will not get that. You will not get 5000 people at a curling match or 20000 people at a hockey game in South Korea.

So thank you, Canada, for giving me so much to be proud about. So proud, that people such as Paul don't matter...as we say in Jersey, you're just a hater. Stop drinking the haterade.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Thanks Kathryn :)

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard
