Hi,

I had my interview at the beginning of January in Montreal, and like many of you out there, left with a "refusal worksheet" that outlined that I required some further documentation that my wife was in the process of reestablishing domicile in the US before I can be given a Visa. Makes sense, we have to do a lot of these things anyway.

So, 6 weeks later, here we are with tons of supporting documents on hand, and ready to mail. I emailed the consulate, but am afraid I won't get an answer very quickly....am wondering if I have to send in my passport at this point, or is that something they will ask for later? I don't see info about that anywhere on the sheets they gave me.

Please help!

Thanks.

At the conclusion of our interview and 221g refusal for domicile, we were told to send in the additional proof, WITH intended immigrant's passport.

FYI, we have been waiting NINE WEEKS for visa approval/response. My husband has decided to nail bite and wait it out, hoping his work doesn't ask him to travel in the meantime.

When we finally emailed the consulate last week for news, we got an auto-response that gives you info on how to get your passport back while they are processing your visa.

Thanks for the reply, I thought they asked us to send it, but couldn't find any documentation backing that up!

Do you send another pre-paid Xpresspost mailer again too?

I was planning a trip in about 5 weeks, so if we use your case as a measure, looks like I won't be going anywhere.

Yeah, we were only told verbally to send the paassport. They kept the mailer we brought to the interview, so no need to send another.

I wouldn`t plan a trip either, if I were you.

Sent everything in by courier today. Keeping fingers crossed it'll be back before I know it.
