Ok, my wife came on a K-1 Fiance visa, we got married and applied for adjustment of status all within the 90 days. The I-94 on her visa expired on Feb 14th. We tried to get a drivers license today and they wouldn't do it because the I-94 is expired, they told me i either need to get it updated or need her residency (which is in process but could be months)....

I don't even know who to call for help???

PLEASE HELP ME!

Yes you needed to do it before the I-94 expired. I believe now you will have to wait for her Greencard to arrive. Hopefully it won't be too long. Someone else may have better news for you. I know when I got my DL the guy said I got in just under the wire, otherwise I would have had to wait for AOS to be complete. Each state is different though.

In many states - the short duration of the I-94 (90 days) wouldn't have helped any way. It is all state dependent but in all likelihood, you will have to wait until either the EAD or PR/Green Card is issued before you'll be able to get a DL.

There's no one to call really but you should check your state's requirements for non-citizens.

Quick like to that would be www.dmv.org

For Michigan apparently the EAD is on the list....but how would Advanced Parole play into this? She got that approved, but would she get a new I-94 if she left the US and then came back?

I agree. In Illinois your new DL would only be valid for the dates that the I-94 are valid.; however a valid foreign license is good for up to a year. The problem is obtaining insurance; it's mandatory here and no one will give that unless she has a DL.
