This is all such a scam. I went to a civil surgeon today after calling more that 50 within 30 miles of my home and was forced to do a new medical. They would not just sign off on just the vaccination transcription because if you actually read the I-693 where the CS signs off on your medical it states they are signing off on the exam which they wouldn't have to give me because I ALREADY did one originally.. Absolutely ridiculous! I am so angry right now its unreal. The even called immigration for me from the doctors office and USCIS told them to get a whole new medical for me. Meanwhile they have my medical on file.

This whole process is a load of garbage. Contradictions left right and center....no agency talks to each other and the civil surgeons don't talk to the USCIS about getting the rules straight. Everyone needs to get their sh*t in check and revamp the whole system. It seems like any Tom, ####### or Harry can just walk into this country and stay here with minimal problems but those of us that do it the proper legal way get raped by the system.

300$ more dollars down the drain but just to get this the hell over with I'm more than willing to just pay it and finish this absurd process.

Was your medical exam for the K-1 visa less than one year ago?

As long as the medical exam was less than one year from the time you submitt your AOS documents, you do not need another medical exam. I would have printed off the documentation from the USCIS website and taken it to the CS you went to.

It is less than a year old and I did bring the information from the USCIS website. The CS's office called USCIS while I was there and they told them to give me an entirely new medical. That just goes to show you that even people at USCIS do not have a CLUE as to what they are doing.

My CS wanted to do a whole medical, after showing him the instructions for the I-693 it clearly states that K1 only has to have the vacc portion signed off on. I also brought the receipt from my initial medical so he could that I had the medical done. I was lucky and got a doctor who would actually read what I gave him. I had to call a bunch before I got to him. All the others wouldn't even book an appointment unless I was paying for a full medical. This one actually agree to let me make an appointment to talk about it. They really need to overhaul the whole process.

Wiscan....the worst part is is that I had to kind of agree with the CS's office. The I-693 clearly states where the CS has to sign that they are signing off on the WHOLE medical. That's why every doctors office down here in South Florida that I have called refused to do it without doing the whole process over. What pisses me off the most is that USCIS on the phone today at the doctors office told them to redo the whole medical. Even though I had their info printed off their website about the K-1 visas. NIGHTMARE>

Just remember that when you call the "misinformation line" at USCIS, they are only call center workers, not actually employees of USCIS.

So, most of the time, they are just reading from printed material and they actually have very little knowledge of the immigration process..... us immigrants know way more than they do.

Good luck with the rest of your process.

That's why they only put page 1 the info page, and the page that has the vacc portion and the section with the CS signature. That's the only pages they put in the envelope. Sorry you didn't get someone who acutally knew what they were suppose to be doing. I asked the CS that did mine if USCIS informed them when changes occured and he told me no. Its up to them to keep checking the website and quite honestly they just don't have the time to be going on there and reading every day to see if they made changes. It really needs an overhaul. They need to hire an independent panel to do a review and make changes. Good luck on the rest of the process.
