Trust me Rhiann, I know how you feel re: the need for free things. I know you know that. lol I obviously can't afford a gym membership either. I also can't get a library card here, but I could send my husband to get some DVDs if I really wanted to I guess, but I'm not really interested in that. We have a small one bdrm apt, and I'd have to move both the coffee table and the couch in order to have space to do any work outs. So be grateful for your Wii Fit and use it to its full potential! I'd love to have a Wii Fit. And don't get discouraged if you miss a day of working out. It's harder for those of us who aren't used to every day work outs to get motivated. Msg me if you ever want to talk about it or need some motivation :)

Thanks Ashen, you're awesome :P

My friend gave me a pedometer yesterday -- today doing all my errands and such, I apparently took 11000 (i rounded up to that as it wasn't exactly that number, but very close to it like 10897) steps! Woohoo! I am a natural born walker and I love it! I have always been curious as to how many steps I take on a normal day of running around. Now I know...

Walking is a very underrated form of keeping one in at least some form of shape!

:D

just thought I'd share.

Wegmans sponsors a website and corporate group challenge called eat well. live well. that tries to get you to eat 5 cups of fruits and vegetables a day, as well as walk 10,000 pedometer steps per day. The challenge is usually done through a corporate group, but details on how to do it on your own are available on the web site.

They say that a typical person walks 5,000 steps in a day, hence the challenge to double that and take 10,000. I'm guessing their typical person doesn't work a desk job doing customer support; it's rare that I get past 3,000 in a day. Guess I need to exercise a little more. :P

Congrats Peachy!!

I'm definitely doing much better. Working out 3-4 days/week. Eating smaller portions and really cutting back on the snacking.

I'm still down about 2 pounds since I started... but know I have to kick it up a notch in order to start seeing results more quickly. I also know i need to cut back on the carbs.

I haven't done P90X in so long that I decided to try Slim in 6 before just to prepare myself.

Well, it was a good thing because this morning my leg muscles feel like they hate me. I told them I was sorry!!!

I decided to step things up a notch and I'm cutting out any white/refined grain and sugar in general.

From now on I'm only going to eat whole grain pasta, brown rice, whole wheat breads and I've cut out every beverage except coffee, water and green tea. I'll also let myself have wine once in awhile.

This is what I did last year to lose weight and it worked really well for me. I think my body reacts really quickly to sugars. Especially my midsection!

Jumping on the weight loss bandwagon! I started mid-day swims this week, feels wonderful. I plan to add morning yoga (sun salutation) next week. I'm sticking with five, small meals (a combo of protein/fruit or protein/veggie with some starch - mostly whole wheat bread). My only vice is Coffeemate, I have about two cups coffee/day with liquid coffeemate. I can't give it up!

I gained back the 2lbs I lost last week.

I need to start doing real exersicing, this Wii thing isn't working and it just makes me lose motivation. Time to go find a cheap pair of running shoes.

Yeah, I cut out all sugar, especially white bread and crackers/snacks and I can definitely feel my midsection is a lot slimmer!

Last night I did the Sculpt Xpress class at the gym. OMG I was so sore this morning! I'm going to start going every week... I feel like it's a great way to help tone.

So a few updates:

I've been going to Tae Kwon Do 4-5 times a week, and absolutely loving it.

They are letting me test early for my first belt along with a few other people (mostly kids)...I think I'm the only adult testing early.

For our 3rd anniversary, John got me a Wii :D

Can't wait to get some of the fitness games for it, but I set it up today and was boxing, and wow, do you really get a sweat going!

WW is going well too....slowly but surely :)
