Hello There,

I think this is weird!!!!

We applied for my AOS on November 13th and we applied for the work Authorization and the Alien relative petition too.

The funny thing is that on January 2nd I got a letter from the uscis for my initial interview which is on March 2nd...

I still haven't received ANYTHING concerning my EAD nor the other petition(I-130) which is supposed to be approved in order to adjust my status  ....it's been almost 3 months, it's really weird, I haven't even got a letter from them to do the biometrics for the EAD!!!!I feel that I'm gonna get my Green Card before I get the EAD(in that case I wont be needing it), I really hope the interview goes well, my husband and I have been married for a year and a half now, so hopefully my AOS will be approved :innocent:

Do you think there's a problem???is it NORMAL????

Thanks guys...

hi i know you think it's weird but with USCIS anything is possible hehe we applied for AOS and EAD Nov. 18,2005 and they received it Nov. 21,05. I didn't get a biometrics appt. for both and i got an interview letter instead last Feb. 1 for March 9. So i wont be able to get an EAD and we paid for it. Plus i would be able to have a bio appt. after my interview so it will only delay the process more. Anyways goodluck to you.

If you filed I-130 and I-485 together, they will be "adjudicated" (decided) together at your AOS interview.

As with applications that are not getting to interview as quickly, you have the right to request an interim EAD if you do not get one within 90 days of filing. It may not be worth the bother since your interview is so soon anyway.

Hey, don't complain about getting to your interview (and thus your GC) so quickly... :-)

You did not mention whether or not you had your biometrics taken (for EAD and AOS). It's been often the case that EAD is delayed because no biometrics were taken.

You need to make an infopass appointment to request an interim EAD since it's already been 90 days. If the problem is due to biometrics, then most likely you will get them done same day or very soon.

Good luck!

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

Additional information, sometimes if you have your interview before a biometrics you can be approved and then given an appointment the same day for your biometrics. So don't worry about not having a biometrics appointment as long as you have your interview appointment. That's what's more important. It's the onterviewer's call to do what's necessary for your process to be smooth. So just be cool and be there on your interview. Okay? Goodluck and advance Congratulations to you! ;):D

The same thing happened to us, they never sent us the biometrics appointment notice for the EAD, although we did have the biometrics done for the AOS (I-485). I had an infopass appointment last month at which they told me the EAD was approved November 10, but could not give to me as no biometrics. I used the 800 number and they told me to go to Newark biometrics building the next morning, at which time they would not give me the biometrics under any circumstances without the appointment letter. This was after being told to show up at 8 am by the USCIS on the phone. I live over an hour from Newark, BTW.

I sent a letter to USCIS to request the EAD biometrics appointment notice over a month ago with no response. Now essentially a non-issue as our AOS interview was Tuesday. $165 down the drain. My wife has a job offer on the table also. :bonk:

Tuesday was a 2.5 hour wait, everything went OK and conditionally approved, but needed a stamped copy of marriage license (we had original from Mayors office, but not stamped). Back to town clerk yesterday, a lot of begging to get stamped copy, and back to Newark this a.m. Case officer had told us Tuesday just to call him up to window and he would stamp passport. Well, we arrived at 9:30, and SRO - 3-4 hour wait. We saw Case Officer and after 2.5 hours had to jump up to window after he called someone else - another 30 minutes and he comes to window and tells us he is too busy to pull our file and stamp passport - he will do tomorrow and we will get in 2-3 weeks. Not a bad guy, just overloaded most likely. So essentially we awaited 3 hours for nada and could have just dropped marriage license off. Added to that is the concern over many threads here that state people are waiting months to get there green cards in the mail. :ranting: We need to leave the country for a Thai wedding ceremony during June.

Two days off of work without much to show. Just hoping that green card comes as promised.

Scott

Wow, you're lucky!! I wish mine would have gone that speedy. Congratulations! I guess you won't need to worry about that EAD anymore with your AOS interview so soon.

Always funny to me that it is going to take me longer to get a replacement green card (they sent mine with wrong photo after I had waited over 2 years to get approved) than it will take you to go through the entire AOS process!! You are one lucky couple!! :D

January 10, 2003: K1 NOA

October 23, 2003: AOS NOA

November 10, 2005: AOS approved w/o interview (749 days!!)

September 30, 2009: German Beibehaltungsgenehmigung

February 9, 2010: Naturalization interview and Oath Ceremony!
