Hello,iew

I had FP done on 2/2. I have received yellow letter the past staurday requested to bring the additional document along with the interview. I have tried to check my case online but the system did not acknowledge my file #.

Usually it will show on the top of the page.

I wonder why my file # start with the strange code NBCxxxxxxxxx

I study that it has to start with the service center code EAC,LIN,WAC ect.

Is something wrong with my case?

Thanks in advance for the suggestion.

Are you including the * that is part of the number when you try to check it? The * is also part of the number and needs to be included. NBC, btw, refers to 'National Benefits Center' . Citizenship applications are processed initially there then forwarded to your local USCIS office for the interview rather than one of the service centers.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Thank you Kathryn41. That would help me. I never know that * is part of the number.

I will try to enter again

I finally can check my case online. But now I think it comes with the problem. I never received any request additional letter dated show below but the only one I received on the past saturday(yellow letter) requested to bring along with the interview. What should I do? Anybody receive some error message like this before? Please advise. Thank you

Request for Evidence

On January 14, 2010, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case N400 APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the requested information. This case will be in suspense until we receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once we receive the requested evidence or information and make a decision on the case, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

A request for evidence is made when an application/petition is lacking required documentation/evidence (initial evidence) or the officer needs more documentation/evidence (additional evidence) to determine an applicant's eligibility for the benefit sought. We may send you a request for evidence at any stage of our review. The request will indicate what evidence or information is needed for us to fully evaluate your application or petition. The notice will explain where to send the evidence and will give the deadline for your response. Your application or petition will be held in suspense during that time. If you receive a request for evidence and have questions about what you need to submit, you may call our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283

Here's our online case status of two seconds ago"

"On March 31, 2008, we received this N400 APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

It was on September 3, 2008 my wife received her certificate, never got an e-mail, case was never touched, but somehow, she received her USC.
