I stayed street level aside from the hotel.

Did anyone climb up into and atop Jesus?

I did...totally not worth the climb. :P And I only say that because my legs were literally in pain and shaking on the way up and down--I'm surprised I even made it down!! The monkeys and the view was great though!!!

I had fun out on Jesus' shoulder as I had blocked the opening with my body and me and the fiancee had a few minutes alone time to make out finally. Nothing like making out on top of Jesus. There was someone that kept tapping on my backside to let them through though.

The monkeys seemed scared of me though and stayed far away and ran off as I approached.

Also anyone going and is over 6 feet tall like I am watch your head and duck a lot.

The back was ok but the head had gotten a few new dents. This pretty much is the same everywhere in Vietnam and usually occurs where stairs are going up mainly but remember once as I was going down at the fiancee's family house I had gotten a pretty good ding. Think the family had never had anyone hit their head there before as the ones that saw it just stood around me while I was laying there at the foot of the stairs on my back and they seemed perplexed on what to do.

Is that really not your father in law or you father in law's friend??? I keep thinking that... :P

It is my father in law and I really liked him a lot. He loved being told he looked like Ho Chi Minh and would laugh loudly as he hated that guy with a passion. He was fun and made a great high octane medicine that was mainly rice wine. He passed away about 5-6 months ago and is sorely missed. The pic in my avatar is the one I made from the trip to Vung Tau and it hangs on the wall here and at the Uncle and Aunt in laws house as the pic that shows dead ancestors. Not sure of the Vietnamese name for it. I am honored they chose my pic I took to place in that honor and do the ancestor worship.

Sorry to hear about your father in law. I'm sure he was very pleasant to be around!

There is a KFC in Vung Tau?? Oh wow I guess I missed it. Thu and I had some fried chicken from KFC in Singapore and she loved it. I would have liked to introduce her family to it :)

Oh well, I guess there is always next time. hahaha
