Hi,

I'm new here and I need some advice if anyone has it :)

My husband and I filed his I-130 and I-485 concurrently. I received the receipt for the I-130 quickly, but we never got one for the I-485 (which also had the work authorization application). I've been waiting for that reciept and biometrics info and now it's been 4 weeks... what should I do??

Forms were mailed on Jan. 7th, checks cased on Jan. 13th, got the receipt for the I-130 on the 17th. When I check that receipt number on the USCIS website, it shows me the status. When I looked up the check image for the other form and put it into the USCIS website, it tells me that they cannot find the number??

I'm afraid of missing the biometrics appointment, but if it was never in the computer to begin with...?? Help

ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME.

You could make an Infopass appointment at your local USCIS office and speak with an actual immigration officer. Bring the notices that you do have with you as well as the cancelled cheques - or copies of them (front and back) and make sure you have his A number available. You know that they did receive it since they have already receipted the I-130 but you should have received a receipt for the a I-485 by now as well. It is probably a bit early to worry about biometrics but it would be a good idea to find out what is going on with the AOS.

You can make an infopass appointment at http://www.uscis.gov - go to the lower left hand side where it says 'make an appointment/infopass' and then follow the instructions.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
