Well I sure as hell wouldn't want to see you (or anyone) get married sober. Congrats!

Oh, unrelated: 21 days after our SSN appointment and still no card. Boo.

BLAH! I don't like that place. :ranting: Hope you get your card soon! Have you called them to see what's up? Gonna try to go in again this week, hope we'll get somewhere this time!

Haha, I should clarify that we (or I) got tipsy AFTER the event  not before. We went to an Indian restaurant, yum!

Got our certified copies of marriage license today and also walked in and got David's SSN! The lady didn't ask any questions...it was just annoying because it was so crowded and took about an hour to be called up to a window. Onwards to the civil surgeon!

Congratulations on the wedding and well done Justin & David! A productive day! We're putting all the finishing touches to our wedding now... only 5 days to go!!! I can't wait!

Rito, when I applied for my social security card, I was given a letter saying that if I dont recieve it in 14 days, I should call them or go in with the letter. Did you get one too?

I'll have to dig around for that letter, but the woman did tell us it would be a few weeks because we weren't in the SAVE-AVI system. I called the main social security number today. Total waste of time. After a long time on hold, I said I wanted the status of my case because it had been awhile. The woman I talked to didn't seem to know what to say. She said "Well, you could go back to your local SSN office." "You can't look up the information?" I asked. "Well," she said, "you could go to your local SS office and ask them..." Grr.

Typical! I wonder if you called the local office number if they could help you more?

Oh god! Thats terrible. I'm not suprised about the phone line though. I called ahead the day I went to apply for mine and the automated system was terrible, and didn't recognse what we were saying! Then when we spoke to someone and she sounded like she was sleeping! Uhhh! Is there any chance you can go to another SS office nearby? The one we went to, Russ said was in a multicultural area. When we were waiting there were people of all nationalities and little me, from England. No one was at all bothered by that. So I assumed it was so easy cos they must be familiar with immigration. I think you should try again at another office. Hope you get it soon! :)

By the way, I received my Social Security card this morning! Now to apply for a bank account! My friends from England are arriving tomorrow afternoon for the wedding too. I cant wait to see them! :D

Well, think we're going back to the Social Security office again tomorrow. If we don't get anywhere I give up. We have all the appropriate documentation and are prepared to go through the chain of command if need be. Wish us luck, we'll need it! lol

Got our I-693 done! we don't want to risk the RFE because David will be applying for graduate schools and we will also be honeymooning in Hawaii for a few weeks in September, so the timing has been rather tricky...we will probably apply in mid-July to hopefully get the biometrics by the beginning of September..."only" paid $50, which is better than most, I guess :bonk:

Ugh. At least you have peace of mind though, which is good. I expect we'll get an RFE, but we'll be here to take care of it which is why we took the risk.

Got the SSN today in the mail!

Just need the 2009 tax transcripts, fill out the papers, and off to Chicago we go!

Luckily for us, the Alexandria location for biometrics allows walk-ins, so we won't be tied down from that in case there is a conflict.

Watched the USA v Ghana game and was a lot like :crying: but happy for one of our docs who is from Ghana.

Yay!! We went to the social security office again yesterday....and got a SSN for Phill! YAY!! The man we got was SO nice and chatted to Phill about football (soccer) and he told us he'd heard that immigration is pretty tough. It was a complete opposite than our previous experience. We were in and out of there within 7 minutes! Gonna finish up the last of our paperwork this weekend and hope to have it in the mail Monday afternoon!

huzzah! I guess average time it takes to get a NOA1 is more than a week. Wonder why  ...it only took us 2 days to get a NOA1 for K1.

I am off tomorrow from work and will spend it doing the forms. :rolls up sleeves:

Hey did anyone see Eclipse yet? Sister, David, and I saw it today. Great, but 2 off things:

...actually, maybe I shouldn't post spoilers? Anyone care about that?

Or maybe it is more likely that I should be :bonk: for even mentioning it

For the record and in defense, though, I think that Edward/Bella is an unhealthy relationship at times...and at others, abusive! I wonder why I'm drawn into it...no indication of hubby though :luv: David was super excited because he's never been to a midnight release before; I guess they're not very common in the UK. He complained about the ####### seating arrangement though and said UK theaters are much better.
