C'mon Booyah.

As in other highly developed countries (like Australia,) we have a social "safety net" that's designed to protect the less-than-fortunate.

"safety net"?... don't make me laugh... it's a hammock.

When people fall into an actual "safety net", they quickly get out, hardly the case with social programs.

For instance, when it comes to food, this New mother and child will not only get -enough to get by.... but she will get more than is needed.

As I posted before a family of 3 in my state gets $526.00 per month in food stamps.

Thats not counting WIC and free lunch and breakfast for school age kids or meals eaten at "head Start" if enrolled.

Thats about twice what my family of 3 spends on food per month.

In our kindness to help those who make destructive choices in their life we end up promoting the very thing "we" call -negative.

I'd be interested in hearing how you feed a family of 3 for $265 a month.

We must be living in a different America, furthermore, different reality. Last time I checked, guess which state's unemployment rate is close to 11%, while which country's rate just dropped to 5.3%. What does that tell you about which approach works and which does not? Leaving it all to the private sector alone is the worst mistake a country can make.

I nearly forgot, everything went to sh-t the day Obama took office. Prior to that, people had so much money that they needed to use multiple bank accounts to avoid the FDIC's $100k limit.

Did you add for free lunch and wic?

YOu should also keep in mind, Food stamps can only buy food, so what ever you spend on cleaning products, trash bags, laundry products would not be figured into your food bill.

Still I doubt I spend much more than 300 in food a month.

You didn't say you got free lunches and WIC. Or food stamps. Otherwise I highly doubt you can feed 3 people for that amount.

IF you want to make a point... do it, don't cloud the post with rambling.

-Do you believe social services are a hammock or safety net?

- Is it possible to spend $526 per month and still be hungry and not have enough or eat healthy?

- The last person obsessed with Obama just killed several people and is sitting in Jail, should I worry about you.... you seem to keep bringing Obama up in unrelated topics for some reason, unless you suspect others blame him, for a child getting knocked up?

Let me clear up the misconception. Even those who are on wic, they are still working. But, due to their inability to get a four year degree, they are making incomes of 20k, 25k, 30k....

We have House of Corrections guards who are on wic and food stamps. Heck, it's all over the country. You don't want to feed these guys and their families?

Ehh...

Hammock, safety net; what's the difference?

The only viable solution to your problem is to adopt Saudi Arabian policies. Those black sheets of oppression--which cause furor amongst women-rights groups--actually protect women from the sexual nature of men. The Saudis rear significantly less ####### children than their Western couterparts. You can thank the Hijab for that.

####### children are no doubt an encumberance and destructive act on society, as you've clearly noted.

The facts are there, Danno. Recognize the elephant in the room for once.
