Delta stuffed this up, can anyone help?

I'm stuck on flight 1982 RIGHT NOW, flying out of Miami>Atlanta.

Delta said the connecting flight was cancelled so they put me on a "reserve" seat on a FULL PLANE - unlikely it will have a free seat for me. And I have a "guaranteed" seat on a later plane Atlanta>Newark, which is NOT going to make my international flight to the UK, on a different airline.

My husband got my boarding passes because I was feeling ill, he only realised minutes after saying goodbye that I am stuffed. I only realised when THIS flight was delayed and I checked the boarding passes.

Delta did not give a flying... well they did not care. I've effectively been forced on this flight so as not to lose my luggage.

thery say there is a "good chance" I'll get on the FULL PLANE which has no seats. If I can't get on it, my luggage then goes to the TOO LATE PLANE which won't make my international connection. I can;'t de;lay the international connection because Delata stuffing up is not their fault nor responsibility.

What are my rights here?
