I am flying into Dulles International airport.

Does anyone know what exactly happens there?

Do i just go through customs with everyone else and when i get to the desk they will know what to do?

Are you entering the USA with a Fiancee visa in hand?

If so you will have a manila envelope in your posession not to be opened by you but you will hand this to the customs official

You should be processed just like everyone else...

Is this what you are asking about???

I understand what you are asking...

I think you will queue like everybody else but will then have to go into secundary so they fill out some paperwork...

but somebody else who has done it should be able to answer better.

sorry to butt in but i have a question that i can't seem to figure out myself.

is it better to have a return ticket or a one-way ticket?

as for you danniella, a few POE reviews might help: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/poerevi...C&dfilter=0

Does not matter if you have a round trip or one way ticket. The rule is to get the cheapest one as we all know this process and the AOS cost a lot. It may take you a little longer to get by customs but it not like they are going to lock you up in a room and leave you there. Just read some of the POE reviews and you will get an idea of what goes on. Take care.

I purchased a one way ticket as it was almost half the price of a round trip.

It's not like you are trapped in the country i mean if anything happened you can just buy a ticket back so there shouldn't be any problem with a one way ticket.

Thanks for the review link =)

Both good and bad reviews haha.

I actually really dislike Dulles airport it was just the cheapest and most convenient.

Hi,

Let me tell you how it went in my case. I entered US through Memphis POE. I had to stand in line with all the other non-citizens but when I got to the immigration desk and I explained the situation, the clerk took my picture and my fingerprints (for some reason he only asked me for only two fingerprints - thumb and index) called someone else and I was sent to Office 1 which was a room somewhere inside. I handed the envelope to the Immigration Officer that came to escort me to Office 1 and then I had to wait there for them to complete the formalities. I couldn't see what they were doing as they went into another office. 10 minutes later the Immigration Officer came with a form that I needed to fill in and Form I-94 that he filled in and then stapled to my passport (it;s a little piece of paper with a stamp). I-94 is extremely important as it will be necessary when you will file for AOS. So, make sure you don;t lose it. :-) (There were cases when people took it off from the passport thinking they won't need it anymore). After he handed me the passport I was free to go. I think the whole process lasted some 15 minutes. Piece of cake. :-)

Good luck!

That doesn't seem too bad. I've read mixed reviews. Some people are through in 20 mins others 3 hours haha
