We're also having a Catholic wedding in the Philippines in May and we were only asked to submit marriage certificate in lieu of the LCM. My husband was not required to get a CENOMAR. Are you both Catholics? As far as I know there are other church requirements you need to comply with such as the following:

1) Baptismal Certificate and Confirmation Certificate with notation "for marriage purposes"

2) Certification of freedom to marry from the parish priest

3) Pre-Cana seminar certificate

The 3 additional requirements above are for couples who are both Catholics and both single never-been-married. You may want to ask your mother-in-law to check with the church about specific requirements. Note that there may be other requirements if you're not getting married in her parish.

Yes,we are both catholic..they dont require pre cana seminar.they didn't ask baptismal

you may want to double check this, i can understand about the pre-cana as not being required by some parishes but i know baptismal and confirmation certificates are a definite requirement, otherwise, the parish must be very lenient.

Regarding airline ticket name,,, You might want to call the airline and talk to a supervisor if needed... They can re-issue the ticket,, for a name change,,, as it needs to match the passport... I checked with the airline I use,, American, they said,, as long as it all American Airlines flights they can do it immediately, If it involves another airline as well,,, it will take a bit of time as they need to request the name change through the secondary airline,,, but, once that is complete. The ticket will be re-issued in the married name.

regards,

you were married in the USA.

This 'marriage' is global, in scope.

To get 'remarried' in the PI , whilst still being married in the USA, is difficult, from a 'paperwork process'.

Suggest you stick with 're-affirmation of wedding vows' ceremony - IMO, is no legal paperwork required.

I think yer on the wrong track, to stick with 'marriage in the Philippines' .

Contact Mama again, tell her to tell the Priest 'Re-Affirmation of Wedding Vows' Ceremony, instead of 'marriage ceremony'.

Words are really important here. Mama got the answer, for you, for 'wedding ceremony'.

Sorry.

since we are already married here in the US

Okay, if you are already married then your need to Report your Foreign Marriage to the NSO in the Philippines and that is the end of the legal paperwork aspect.

The Local Civil Registry will not be involved at all.

For the Church Wedding, it will be a ceremony only which is usually called a "Reaffirmation of Vows" or some such thing.

Technically since you are already married you would be committing fraud in applying for a Philippine (or any other) Marriage License.
