One other question Zeezee44, was ur case # a CDJ number or MEP?

It was CDJ... and I guess in your situation I would try calling the 703 number until I got someone semi-knowledgeable and if they let me schedule the appointment, schedule it and bring everything with me. Good luck!

Question for Chuk or anyone who had their visa DHLed to a location outside of Juarez... How were you able to track your shipment? We don't know our number, and on the mexico.usvisa-info.com website it still says there is no information available. Should I be concerned that it hasn't shipped yet?

The way I got my tracking number was through the mexico.usvisa-info site.

I read of someone who got it sent to DF and it the tracking number never showed up on the site. But it was delivered in 4 or 5 days to Mexico City.

Keep your eye on the web site. If not, after 5 days or so head down to the location. In your case, I'd pay a visit to DHL on Friday.

Mine was approved on a Tuesday, and I had it the same week Friday. Also the 703# would be a place to call and inquire.

Thanks Chuk! You were right - we stopped by DHL and it was there, even though the 703 number knew nothing about it and nothing was ever posted on the web. Phew, big relief!

I submitted my i-130 in Mexico City the 2nd of June. I sent an email to Ciudad Juarez via the web form and today they tell me that they haven't received anything. Should I be worried? Is this normal? It's been more than 2 weeks, surely they should have received the i-130 by now.

An update on this:

I received the letter stating that I could schedule an interview at Ciudad Juarez from 22 - 28 of July. I was able to schedule the interview for the 27th.

I'm surprised at how quick this was. From when I submitted the 1-130 to the interview it will have been less than 2 months. :o

Congrats!!!

It seems that now with the DS-260 the process is speeding up, so now it takes at least 2 months less than it used to take a couple of months ago!

They seem to be eliminating the packet 3 process, and now you only fill up the DS-260 online and take all the proofs with you to the interview, awesome, I don't regret having to wait 4 months, because still that was pretty fast!

Regards and good luck with your interview!

Hey everyone,

Is there anyone that I can email back and forth with about this visa? I am never able to come on this website and it would be so much easier through email. I need to decide between this visa or K-1 fiance visa by next week. I am an idiot sometimes so I have lots of questions for someone that has gone through this process. I dont want to make the wrong decision and I would like to do whichever visa is easier and faster. I have lived with my fiance in Mexico for 5 years so I do not live away from him. If there is anyone that can help me with some questions I would appreciate it so so much. Thank you!

Sarah

Hi All, looks like this thread has been quiet for awhile now. I haven't been checking the forums lately, but I may go ahead and file very soon coming up here, so I'll be on all the time if that happens... Kind of depends on what happens with some upcoming job interviews I have.

Does anyone know if things have changed as far as Mexico DFC goes? I've read that for many countries they basically cut-off the DCF process all together, but I am assuming that Mexico was unaffected by that change. Can anyone confirm?

Hello! My husband and I are living in Quintana Roo, and we started the DCF process from here at the end of April. So just to let you know that DCF is still an option in Mexico. Good luck, and feel free to ask any more questions you have!

Que onda Osos! Thanks for your reply. It seems that this new 'law' only just took effect in August, so it wouldn't have been an issue in April, but anyway after further research it really doesn't look like Mexico is one of the affected countries as a result of the change. But thanks anyway; I will definitely be posting new questions very, very soon. Thanks for your help!

DCF is still an option? Do you mean that instead of having to go to Juarez for my wife's consular interview, we can opt to go to Mexico City instead?

Oh, if only bigtex, if only... Unfortunately no, with DCF you just send your petition to DF (or take it to the embassy in person), but you have to go to stinky Juarez for the visa interview and medical exam. There's really no way around Juarez; I have searched for alternatives and there is no way to legally avoid going to Juarez and being treated like a farm animal for a couple days. The way it has always been and probably the way it will always be. :(

Ok, so I'm getting everything together and preparing to file. I've been trying to go through this whole thread to find out as much as possible and it has helped a lot so far, but it's likely I'll post a redundant question or three in the coming months. Luckily, at least as of right now, we can take our time with this process and I'm hoping that makes it much easier on us. Our case is pretty straightforward and I'm hoping it should be a breeze (at least as much as it can be).

So I have a couple of questions right of the bat (dozens more to come, surely). I've called the Mexican Embassy and they were less than helpful (huge suprise there) and basically told me to call back and talk to the machine. Thanks for that, guys.

Anyway, number 1. is: We'll be going to the states on vacation in a month and I'm wondering if I could just do the money order while there. Frankly I'd feel a little better purchasing the money order in the states since it's not at all common here, so do you think Mexico City would have any problem with a money order from the United States?

2. It's pretty obvious to whom the money order should be made out, but if anyone can confirm the exact address to where all the docs should be sent to the embassy in Mexico City that would help a lot.

and

3. I read in some of the early posts on this thread that you have the option of getting all of the biometrics stuff out of the way beforehand at your local consulate (in our case Guadalajara) and thus saving you from having to do one more thing while in Juarez. Can anyone confirm if that is the case? Thanks!
