Hi, everyone!

Thank you, Ariana, for all the information you provided. I'm sure it will help us all along our way!

We're getting everything ready for next week. I'm going to go with my husband, his interview is thursday. Our letter never arrived (well, there's still tomorrow and friday!) so we're gonna have to get one at the consulate. One question, we arrive tuesday afternoon and planned on getting the letter first thing wednesday (I think the consulate opens at 7?) then going to the medical. Will we have enough time to get the letter and run to the medical and still get the results the same day?

Ahhhh, I'm getting a bit nervous!

Hi Guys!!! I'm so excited to have found you all. Seriously. I've been on smfjuarez and immigrate2us forums, but no one is DCF'ing like me and the advice is extremely limited. I am a USC, I moved to Chihuahua from Florida to get married in July of 2009 and just turned in my form I-130 about 2 weeks ago directly to CJ. I was excited when I received a call from the last week asking for our original birth certifcates and marriage certificates which I sent in the same day. Then the stangest thing happened. I received an email from UPS stating:

This message was sent to you at the request of AMERICAN CONSULATE GENERAL CD JUARE to notify you that the electronic shipment information below has been transmitted to UPS. The physical package(s) may or may not have actually been tendered to UPS for shipment. To verify the actual transit status of your shipment, click on the tracking link below or contact AMERICAN CONSULATE GENERAL CD JUARE directly.

And they provided me with a tracking number and everything. Well, the day that my letter was supposed to arrive at my home in Chihuahua, the tracking status still only read "Billing information received". I called UPS and they said that the consulate had never officially sent a physical package, just it's electronic information. Then I called the extortion hotline (01900) and they said that the us consulate would NEVER use UPS, that they only use DHL. They also said that they couldn't tell me anything until I had been approved and had a case number. I'm going crazy. the curiousity is killing me. I'm alreayd ready to send in my packet 3 but I have no idea what's going on since I haven't received ANYTHING and I need a case number in order to send it in. I already sent to emails through the inquiry form online so I'm hoping they will respond some time soon.

If you have any words of encouragement or anything like this has ever happened to you, Please reply!

Lastly, I think everyone here is a little different to me in that my husband was illegally in the U.S. I don't see anything about you guys having to do a HSL or I-601 waiver so I guess I'll be jumping between this thread and the I-601 one....

thanks so MUCH in advance.

So the weirdest thing just happend. I just checked the tracking number and it now says that the package has been reprogrammed and it is now in transit to arrive today!!!

Today when I called UPS, they said that it should be arriving today. This is insane. What in the world could it be? Could they be returning my originals? or sending the i-130 approved letter?or sending packet 3? I guess I'll find out soon.

HUBBY JUST GOT THE PACKAGE. It says that they approved our I-130 yay. That only took about a week and a half. I'm not sure what else it says, since hubby doesn't read english very well, but he said there were only about 4 lines on the paper and one of them was about the approval of the I-130. AND they sent our originals back !!! whoo hoo. soooo what's next? do i have to wait for my case number to send in packet 3? Thanks for responding LaGringa!

Hmmmm... I wonder why you received it via UPS... I think everyone here received it via regular mail, or didn't at all!

Anyway, that's great news! Now you have to wait to receive your case number from Juarez. If you don't get it soon you can ask them for it on the inquiry page.

At the end of the letter it says "For further procedures and guidelines, please contact the Immigrant Visa Section (U.S. Consulate) at 223-6424 or 223-7011" I've tried calling that number. But I don't understand. Is it a U.S. number? a Mexico number? what the area code? weird.

Hi,

The US phone number to the State Dept for VISAs is 202-663-1225. The US Consulate phone number here in the US is 1-800-375-5283 so not sure what the other number would be--- looks like they are missing the area code so hard to tell where it would be for -- I would probably ignore it although seems a bit curious.

Hi La Gringa-

Yes, leave for the consulate at like 645, have him bring everything (passport, any correspondence you have from CDJ, the hotel info, and a book:-). My husband wasn't in the clinic until 840 and got out and got his results at the same tiime as the people that were waiting there since 4 am!!

So exciting, Marisol and LaGringa! I understand that you're getting nervous, but I'm sure everything will go well! :)

I just have a few very quick little questions:

1. I got my case number via email from CDJ this past week and I'd like to send out Packet 3 this upcoming week. Does anyone know if it's ok that my husband sends in the papers that he has filled out down in Mty while I send my tax info papers from the US? The entire "packet" won't be all together, but CDJ should receive everything.

2. We're debating whether it's an important detail that I say I have a job here, even though my mom is sponsoring him--I'll be having some interviews next week, and it seems like it would feel good to be able to put down that I have a job rather than unemployed, but is it worth waiting an extra week or two for? While of course I'd love to have my husband here right now, he's probably going to finish up his job in Mty through mid-January, which makes us feel like we're not a huge rush to try and get an appt with CDJ before Christmas. If not and we send the packet, should I just send CDJ updated job info once I get a job?

3. This may have been asked before, but with the DCF marriage visas, do you send *any* relationship evidence in Packet 3? I know it says just bring it all to the interview, but I thought I read that someone sent in a 1-2 page photo collage and I know the fiance visa people always send huge amounts of evidence. I would like to, if it would make the interview go any smoother, but did any of you girls do that?

Ok, thanks so much! And grangkm, welcome to the forum! I would say that something seems fishy about the UPS thing and would just follow whatever you receive officially from CDJ that has the correct phone numbers/addresses on it. Good luck!

Hi, Ariana, just one more question... to get the interview letter, do I have to go in with my husband to the consulate or can he go alone? And the only correspondence I got from CDJ was via email, will that be enough? Ok that was more than one question!

Pnewton, there shouldn't be any problem sending it separately, but I'd suggest sending everything together. You can send it here to your husband and it'll only take a day to get to Juarez.

I would just send it the way you have it now, just with your mom's info.

We didn't send any proof with packet 3.

Hi, it's me again!

So I thought I had everything and then I read on packet 4 (I think) that we have to take an updated affidavit. Please tell me they don't ask for that! I only have copies of what I sent in with packet 3 and my cosponsors are in the US!

Should I be worried or just chill out?!

Hi La Gringa !..

are you ready?? are you already in Juarez?

I dont think you will have problems with the affidavit of support. There isnt much time since you sent packet 3 so It is updated. Dont worry about that.

Good Luck !!
