Hello there!

Im reading the time line in some peoples signatures for the k-1 visa and it states

(date) : sent in ds forms, iv-15 an checklist (packet 3)

I thought you just had to send in the iv-15 and checklist form and keep all the other documents until your interview??

Have i made a big UH-OH ?!

Please help :(

K-1:

January 28, 2009: NOA1

June 4, 2009: Interview - APPROVED!!!

October 11, 2009: Wedding

AOS:

December 23, 2009: NOA1!

January 22, 2010: Bogus RFE corrected through congressional inquiry "EAD waiting on biometrics only" Read about it here.

March 15, 2010: AOS interview - RFE for I-693 vaccination supplement - CS signed part 6!

March 27, 2010: Green Card recieved

ROC:

March 1, 2012: Mailed ROC package

March 7, 2012: Tracking says "notice left"...after a phone call to post office.

Don't send the photo. You give them the photos when you go to the interview.

How do you know when the embassy has received your packet 3? Do you get notified by post or just by a certain type of postage that tells you when they receive it?

It says on the embassy website Note: Forms DS-156 and DS-157 must be completed in duplicate. Do I need 2 copies of each or does that just mean for the each family member applying part?

If you send it Recorded Delivery you can track it (or if you wanna spend a fiver then Special Delivery). Then you can track it on the royal mail website so you will know they have received. To know if they have logged it you can call DOS (or get the USC to call them):

202-663-1225.

Then press 1 and then 0

But be warned some people have had issues with inaccurate info. Also have your Case Number to hand (the number that starts LND).

I can't remember about the DS forms sorry...

in duplicate.. just 2 copies from you. I forget which ones you need 2 of tho. My husband made copies of everything anyways just in case he didn't send them in right, he had unsigned copies he took with him to the interview.

May 27th, 2008 -- Damian moves to America!

July 23rd - 30th, 2008 -- Damian's Mum Comes to the US for our wedding.

July 25th, 2008 -- Wedding Day!

March 16th, 2009 -- AOS Sent

May 8th, 2009 -- EAD & AP Approved (51days)

July 14th, 2009 -- AOS Approved!! (118days)

July 21st, 2009 -- Green Card Received (125days)

No RFEs the whole process :) All done myself.

December 4th - 30th, 2009 -- Visited England

April 8th - 30th, 2010 -- Damian's Brother visits us here in PA.

January 19th, 2010 -- Damian got his PA license.

December 10th - 19th, 2010 -- Visited England

September 16th - 30th, 2011 -- Damian's Parents came to visit us here in PA.

June 1st, 2011 -- Mailed ROC to Vermont.

February 21st, 2012 -- 10 Year Green Card Received

April 14th, 2012 -- N-400 Sent to Dallas Lockbox

November 26th, 2012 – Damian Became a US Citizen!!!

Sent it yesterday by recorded delivery so hopefully they will get it today or tomorrow!

I was proper paranoid kept checking over the docs like a hundred times checking i had them all an they were right lol!!
