I saw the NBC Ohno package shot last night. Not much to write home about, but awkward none the less. :lol:

NBC needs to get on with airing the hockey game. . . . .

as it's been snowing since friday, i've been holding my own olympics here.

medaled in snow shovel and the walk on icey ground without busting my butt event, made a strong showing in the smoke outside in blizzard conditions.

failed miserably in the uphill car drive. so i'll be at home instead of going to work.

I am not a hockey fan at all, but did watch the game last night as the girl I like, is into it and she came over so we could route for the US. So it was ok game I guess, I was just hoping fights would have broke out, but they seemed to control that pretty fast.

We both then attempted to watch with a straight face Ice Dancing and both came to the conclusion that this had to have been a joke made up by someone. We couldn't figure out how in hell that made it to the olympics.

Then we attempt to watch curling. My mother used to do this when I was a kid (I got thrown into the Curling club day care) and my older brother plays this. I have never actually seen it or watched it (other then knowing people brooms and someone tossing a thing down a rink). It's very much like shuffleboard on ice. Kind of interesting to see I guess. Watched the US vs. England and Sweeden beat Norway (with the funny pants)....

I love speed skating. I don't know why or how I came to like it, but ever since I was a kid, I'd watch it every time it was on t.v.. However, I only watch long course races. I despise short-track races. It is on the same level of lame as figure skating. I refuse to admit that figure skating is a sport. Any event that is subject to judging by a panel for the outcome, to me is a pagent, not a sport.

I also love to watch curling, but found myself cringing saturday night watching the Canada vs. UK curling match. I was over at my parents house for my aunts birthday and we all started watching it. The commentators were just awful. They spent like 10 minutes talking about Wayne Gretzky when they found out that he was in the audience, and kept going to dreadful camera shots of the audience searching for him. Then at home, i'm cringing because on each event of the match, one of my family members is asking my wife about rules and scoring questions. It doesn't matter to them that she's said that she never played the sport, and doesn't even like it. In the end, it was a great match. I really love the precision aspect of the sport and the Canada vs. UK match didn't disappoint.
