Lol...The giant Timmies cup and timbits were hiding behind the mounties....;) They ate them all!

Ok....Here is a semi-vent:

I hated the NBC coverage of the closing ceremonies....

Too many commerical breaks!

And oh....I went to sleep at 10:30 or so..thinking that the show was over...(when that marriage ref show came on)

Only to find out the next morning that the show continued at 11....

And I missed whatever happened after that... :crying:

I'm sure NBC lost a lot of viewers that way...(lol..they lost one here for sure..). What a dumb move for NBC!

Why do they have to to cut to some cheesy reality show in the midst of the olympics, which happens only once every 2-4 years... :angry:

Lol..Can anyone fill me on on what happened after 11pm on NBC? Thanks!.... :unsure:

Sigh, now I'm really wishing I had CTV and/or CBC instead!

Still..It's the principle of the matter, not the act itself.....

NBC shouldn't cut in the middle of something as important as the olympics! :angry:

It's like them cutting off the super bowl..I'm sure others would be angry over that too....

Lol..This is the same network that fired Jay, hired Conan, hired Jay, fired Conan, hired Jay again.... :blink: Can't they make up their minds?

I didn't even get to watching that show..So you made it farther than I did...lol

The last thing I saw before I went to bed...

Dancing mounties, moose, beavers, snowflakes, etc....

I thought I was dreaming...

And then realized....I'm watching the Canadian olympics...

Oh I wish this were reality...

It would be cool to actually be in a "make-believe Canada" like this!

Nickelback performed (a lyrically sanitized version of) "Burn It To The Ground," while Avril sang "Girlfriend" and something else that's escaping my memory. Another band, Hedley (I think?), also performed, but I don't know them or their music at all.

I dont' think she has much going on in terms of lyrical talent. :whistle:

Did she try to act like she's not a bubblegum pop singer? I loved how she tried to pretend she was a punk back in her teeny bop days.

Honestly, I felt that the closing ceremony was pretty good and then they got to the music, they could have done better...

Some of the music was pretty darned depressing, such as, Simple Plan's ''Your Love is a Lie.'' I mean, the Olympics is about bringing the world together...I just didn't think most of the music was appropriate. Avril and Simple Plan both sung songs about bad relationships.

I went from being a proud Canadian, to embarrassed. :unsure:

I felt very proud as a Canadian AND an American during the Olympics.

I now feel slight depression that it's all over.

And I'm COMPLETELY MAD at myself for not going up to Vancouver for any events.... and I only live 3 1/2 hours away from Vancouver!!!!!!!!!!!!
