Now the Socchi presentation is presenting past Olympic Russian athletes

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Russian actress Natalia Velanova is part of the Socchi presentation here including cultural and technological achievements of the Russian Federation. The conductor is Kirkiev and ballet dancers performing to Tschiakovsky's 6th with the Moscow Symphony - pretty classy presentation

and now ice dancers. Maria Guleghina is singing now on a viritual 'troika', hehehe

Lol..Oh that's who those are....Thanks for the clarification again....

Russian atheletes...

Fireworks.....

And yup....You guessed it...Yet another commercial break....

(brb...going to go grab some dinner...)

This is totally just me but I thought the Socchi presentation was not as good as the London presentation during the summer olympics turn over. I think its partly because I understand the English symbolism more (they had their double deck bus, and telephone stand) and I thought it was more upbeat.

However, I did find the end part really beautiful, just when they were pulling out their flags (the cloth part they were pulling it every direction). OF COURSE NBC chooses THAT time to go to commercial :P

Ant -- if my memory serves me right... to watch the figure skating practices alone cost about 100-120 dollars, to watch the gala was around 400... I think the tickets that were below 100 were still between 60-80 and they were mostly outdoors sports. I dont remember hockey but Im sure its $$$ and the openings and closings were also hovering around the hundreds. The cheapest one would be the bleeder seats too. That may not be a lot of money to others, but that was a lot for me and even though my friends said I could stay with them, I just didnt think it was worth shelling that much cash. I do wish I were there though!

Finally married... and still married... ;)

Wow...That is expensive for tickets! (lol..even in Canadian dollars..that is expensive)

Lol....Though if given the choice..I would trade in the fees that I've paid to the USCIS for olympic tickets!

Lol..Anyone want a slightly used citizenship certificate (just kidding..)

But yeah, it's not fair that the games should be only affordable to the rich!

Too bad too, they cut the coverage of the flags..Yup..good ole NBC......lol.....

Pauley: MINE TOOO!!!!! I always tear up when I see the mom commercial!

Yeah..I love the moms commercials too.....

Back to the show...

Speech from the olympic IOC head..says the games are closed...

Neil Young (lol..I never knew he was Canadian..now I know..)

He's in a black coat, black hat, and playing the guitar.....
