After watching for almost 4 months, we finally had a touch on 2/10/10. From everyone around us, I expected an email or text by now, but I have nothing.

Now I am really worried about an RFE. And even moreso because I leave for Jordan Wednesday morning and if we get one after Tuesday, it is just going to be waitinig here for days. We are going to lose so much time! I feel so bad!

My mom will be checking the mail, so I will know what is going on, but I will be crazy knowing I have an RFE lying here til March 8.

Does anyone know if there are any cases getting approved WITHOUT the email and text notices?

Maybe there is a slight chance mine just didn't work or something?

I don't know. This is making me sick... it's 4:30am and I can't sleep because of it!

I really need advice!

It's been a while since I've been through the process, but I did hear of cases where people where approved without touches or emails. If your mom is checking your mail and your checking your email you should know you have an RFE shortly after it happens. Of course if you do have one you can have your mom send you the paperwork in Jordan and then just send it back in. I wouldn't worry about it to much.

If the USCIS doesnt update their site, you wont get a txt or email update. I had an RFE out there and didnt know about it until I called the military line...then they updated the site the next day  (I called 2 weeks after the RFE was sent out). Also, it took the CSC one week to send out the RFE or any paper notices (my RFE was dated 25 november, but didnt get sent until 1 December). I also requested another copy of it as I didnt know if my friend was going to be able to find the first one that was sent....the date on it was a week prior to the online site saying it was sent... So, if they are good about updating the site, you will get your txts and e-mails.

Maybe this is a good thing.... my uscis status still shows "under review." That hasn't changed. So hopefully, this isn't an RFE... just a slow worker or whatever.

As for sending it to Jordan if it is an RFE, the mail is so slow to there, not sure it would be worth it. And what we need is probably here in the US! I feel like I am living a nitemare!

You can do what I did....I had a friend scan and e-mail the letter from the CSC. I printed that out and sent it in with the additional evidence. they accepted it and approved it within a couple of days. Although, you would have to have the evidence with you or available to the person checking your mail. If they havent flagged it for an RFE by now, you should be safe though.

Thanks Scott. That helps. I had contacted my congressman about a month ago and he sent a letter and nothing has ever happened with that either. So maybe that has something to do with it too. It would be great to get that approval Tuesday before I fly out Wednesday morning. I don't think they are working Monday so...

I have my paperwork ready for NVC (I think). Does all that information from NVC come in an email AND in US mail? I hope I can take care of most of it even if I am still in Jordan when all of this comes thru. I really don't want to lose any time on this. We are hoping to get it thru and get a June interview because I can take time off again then. And after we had a bad experience with his K1 and I wasn't at the interview, I know I HAVE to be at this one.

after you get your approval you will receive your case number takes 4 to 9 days to receive it..you can find out calling the AVR system and entering your USCIS receitp number..after you get your number you call again and speak to an operator and provide both emails beneficiary and petitionary..after this like around 4-10 days you should receive 2 emails one with the choice of agent and one with the AOS fee...the choice of agent you can send one email to the NVC with the template that ins in the VJ wiki page...or you can print the one that they send in the email and mail it to the NVC ...

the AOS fee is paid online after is PAID you print the cover letter on the web site and attach this to the package of the Affidavit Of Support that you will send..normally they send everything by email..but you call the AVR or speak to an operator to make sure that they receive everything...

Once a case number is assigned, you can call the NVC and give them your e-mail addresses...have to wait for an operator though. I used skype when I was in kuwait and it worked fine. I have also called them with skype once when I was here in the philippines. Only requirement for skype to have a decent connection....you can use the number keys to enter on the AVR (shift to use the #). Skype is about .02 a min to call to the US from anywhere in the world.
