NVC Doc needed for Casa interview?

Well the NVC received our application today. (Whoo hoo!) I am now trying to figure out what documents my husband and I are going to need so we can get them together before we receive the instruction packet. We actually didn't expect the NOA2 for another month so now we feel behind the 8 ball (and we are). I did read the guides but I also was looking at the consulate information for Casablanca and some of the items listed in the guides for the NVC are on the list for the embassy. Does this mean both places ask for them? Basically, my question is what documents will we need for NVC for a CR1 through Casablanca in order to complete our case at NVC?

I would follow the guides... you should have made copies of everything (although not a copy of your signature) and signed them as needed. It doesn't hurt to have things you might need - but obviously will hurt your case if you don't have what you need.

We did a K1 and I sent Bijad things that I was 99% positive he wouldn't need - but it didn't hurt him to take it. He had it if they did ask.

Hopefully someone who is doing a Cr1 will chime in with more useful information.

Thank you for the response. I think I wasn't clear in what I was asking. I apologize. I am not asking about what we need to take to the interview...we will certainly take everything listed. What I am asking is what the NVC will require us to send before they consider our CR1 case to be closed and then will send it off to the Casablanca embassy who will then schedule us for an interview at which point we have that list of things to bring. I have looked in the guides and some of what is needed for the NVC matches the embassy. So do we need it twice? I have not really read about anyone mentioning documents my husband will need to mail to me (except the forms) at the NVC stage, so this is where my confusion lies.

Here's what I think we need to do so far:

-My husband will email NVC and let them know I will serve as agent.

-I will pay the AOS (affidavit of support) bill

-I will fill out the I-864

-Once that is accepted NVC will send my husband DS-230, parts 1 and 2. Part 1 needs to be sent to NVC but part 2 he takes to the embassy. It is this step I am wondering what else he will need to send in to NVC...photos? birth certificate? passport biography page? police certificate? These items are listed both for NVC AND for the embassy. Anything else I have missed?

-Once the NVC has everything it then sends our petition to the embassy and they schedule an interview and send my husband more information on the medical exam and what else to bring on the day of the interview.

So, it is the part in bold I have the question about at this time so I can tell my husband what he needs to get so we are ready once the I-864 is accepted.

Thanks again!

I'm not sure about Casablanca, but there is a really good guide that can help you through the NVC.

Here is the link to James' Shortcut. It is made for us who are going through the NVC as CR1 Visa

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...#39;s_Shortcuts

Good luck and pm me if there is anything else I can help you with!

Thank you so much And Sam! This was exactly what I needed and gave me the info. It appears Casa is an "appointment post" embassy and that's why the documentation is listed twice and it appears we will probably need some things more than once. But I am glad to know for sure and to know what we need to do. :)

Good luck with your upcoming interview!!

You are very welcome Vanessa! If you need to learn anymore about the NVC, come over to the NVC February 2010 thread, there are quite a few people there who are all going through or getting ready to go through NVC right now!!

Good Luck!
