Mahalo,

You do need that information.

They need to be American citizens and provide a birth certificate. American citizens have SSN's so it's required.

May I ask, why don't they want that info listed? Do they not have them? Or for personal reasons?

I see. Does it need to be an American citizens or a permanent resident will do with a SSN?

One don't want or not willing to give his SSN for personal and security reasons, I believe. We just don't wanna pushed them or anyone for that matter.

Thank you for the reply. It truly help. :)

Vanessa and Tony: Could you post a link to where it states that the people who provide affidavits for ROC need to be American citizens - I could not find that requirement written anywhere but it's quite possible that I missed something. Thanks!

Have you ever heard of Kenny Howard? Well, you probably know him under the name Von Dutch. He was one of many millions of US citizens who didn't give a rat's a** about what Big Brother wanted them to do in order to have total control over their lives. He never had a social security number, never had a bank account. He paid cash, just the way I like it. He's one of my heros for taking the word freedom literally as far in real life as it was still possible. And, no, there's no law requiring US citizens to have a SSN. But Big Brother makes live as miserable as possible for those who don't.

Edited by Just Bob

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

President Teddy Roosevelt on Columbus Day 1915

The personal affidavits (not to be confused with the affidavit of support document (I-134 or I-864)) must include the person's full name and address; date and place of birth; relationship to the subject(s) of the affidavit. (see I-751 instructions page 2) No SSN needed.
