due to some reason I mailed my application late. I sent it last feb 9th thru the USPS express mail. But due to the recent storm we had here in PA, when I track my package it was just delivered today. Today is the expiration day of my green card. Do you guys think I made it? Is it base on post mark date or on the date received?

Honestly, it's not the date that it's RECEIVED by them, its the date it's processed.. and often it's not processed on the same day it's received.

I can't see from your profile what you're filing for but given the date you joined I'm assuming it's removal of conditions.

Cross all fingers and toes that it IS processed today. In the meantime look into what you're going to have to do if it isn't.

Best of luck to you.

there was a similar case that they still accepted a day late.

I know this is the least of your concerns at the moment....but do you know you can actually get your money back from USPS since their delivery guarantee wasn't met?

Also, did you send a check? keep an eye on your online bank account and see if they cash it. If they do, you're good. It's an indication that your application has been accepted. Accepted = extension. Extension = status is good.

Sure they'll accept it; no need to worry.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

My understanding with the I-751 is that there is a grace period of roughly a month or two if you have a reasonable explanation included with the application as to why it's late. In the case of the current blizzard, I'm sure they'll be reasonable over an interval of a few days.

Welcome to the club... as V333k was saying my I-751 got sent 27JAN and received 28JAN, GC expired 28JAN, I-751 processed 29JAN.

Curiously instead I think that our bio appointment letter got into the weather delays since I noticed that usually within a week VSC had always sent them and today marks the second week for us....

Hello everybody, I think you are fine. The important thing I think is always the date that you mailed out. If you mailed out your package a few days ago, it's fine. Anyway, It looks like was received yesterday, so I think you are accepted, barely but accepted anyway. Good luck with your paperwork!

You should be fine. You submitted your application before it expired and it was delayed through unforeseen circumstances so it arrived on the same day as the green card expired. I seriously doubt you have anything to worry about. Were their offices even open during the storm?

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
