There's no reason at all. Whoever holds the case decides when they will approve it. Cases vary individually. Just pray that the one to adjucate your petition is kinder than anyone else.

Hi there

Why some NOA2 are approved very fast (45 days) and others take almost 4 months?

Does anyone know the answer?

Thanks in advance.

I have no idea!

Most of my group was approved in about 3 months, but 4 of us waited between 4 and 5 and a half months. We all got approved within a few days of each other... so it seems like our files were gathering dust together.

Nothing special about our cases... It just happened that way.

Another reason for fast approval is when the USC has requested the USCIS for an expedited case.

It was very evident why some petitions were processed faster than others at VSC last fall. More staff memebrs had been assigned to work on 129 petitions, so they were processed faster overall. When they got 'caught up' they slowed down ...and the Nov. and Dec. filers got jammed in the slow down.

I do not have any evidence for the next speculation, but it seems something goes on in which they pick a select number of petitions from a select set of dates in a select month and process these days to comform with some tracking program that makes there processing numbers look good. It seems they don't do this in sequence either, although overall they do seem to go in a general sequence.

It really is a very mysterious system!!!
