I am so confused about what my husband should write as his place of birth for AOS paperwork

His passport says Keffi Nigeria

He has as Attestation of Birth from his father that states that no birth or death registration was happening when he was born, but his father states that he was born on this day........ at the ... village to himself and his mother (names are stated) in Abia State.

The truth is that he was born in Keffi, Plateau state........... but a birth certificate cannot be obtained for him from Abia state (where he grew up) but his father can claim him as being born to that village of people in Abia .

What do should he write on his AOS paperwork. ? What city / town should he write? WE are so confused and has to mail this out right away before his I-94 runs out .

Any ideas?

Hm, the passport info must have been from somewhere, so I'd go with that.

My thinking was that you can get a sworn affidavidit of Birth from anywhere.

I am not sure where the confusion is. Is his dad not willing to say he was born in kebbi state?

What is the rational behind sticking with abia state. Place of growing up is not what matters.

His father should swear another affidavidt to say where he was rightfully born.

This should not stress any of you out at all.

On the other hand, if he wants to stick to what his father claims, then he may have to go change/ correct his passport info.

Whichever one he decides to stick to, then the other should be corrected so they both say one and same thing.
