that 90 days thing is the standard answer...i would call them at least a time or 2 a week. You dont need to talk to an operator...just do the automated system until they assign a case number.

Thx a lot Folks. 3 weeks since my approved I130 has been mailed out to NVC on Feb 01, 2010. I was on the phone with them just a minute ago and they didnt receive it yet. They said you should allow 90 days before you contact us to inquire about your NVC case #. I e-mail them instead as a heads up with all information they need for the sake of giving them my new mailing and contact address with a copy of my approved petition' I1-30.

I am pretty sure that they receive your case but wont assign a case number so soon as your priority date has not arrive..I know somebody that is in the same category as you and he wait 4 weeks to get an case number...Hang On There

Folks, I do check the automated service every day cause its easy to do so and most important than all, you know once u are assigned a case #, all u need to do is wait for your PD to be current. My PD is April 18, 2002 and its I-130 approved petition through my US citizen Brother. @ This stage, there aint much of work that need to be done other than havin' my NVC case # and wait till my PD becomes current' Btw, I know for sure the first three letters should be linked to Montreal consulate 'Canada as I am a Canadian citizen and I live and work here.

Have you tried talking to the operator?

I was on the phone with NVC and let me tell you, they are the nicest ppl to deal and communicate with ever. I gave the lady my new address, phone #, e-mail for myself and the Petitioner ( My Brother - US Citizen) all that was on March 15,08

Just received today March 18,10 by e-mail first letter pdf. format from NVC with all information of my case. Current PD for F4 visa is March 00 and mine is April 2002.

I am so excited that everything seems to be on track so i will leave my case to rest and keep an eye on the Visa Bulletin' :)
