well, i was scheduled to have my medical for I-693 with my son this 24th of feb, but the fee is $210 and $190 for my son. the receptionist said they are not going to do the whole medical, i just need to bring my supplemental vaccination paper and the cd for the x-ray and so of my son's.

the question is, is it very expensive to do the medical and i have read here in forums that you guys just pay $10 or $20...

We paid $100 each to have the CS transcribe the DS-3025 vaccinations onto the I-693 and sign off.

In the whole scheme of things, it is very cheap.

We sent in both the I-693 and the DS-3025; I believe in hedging all my bets as much in my favor as possible.

Get the list of local CS's from the USCIS website and spend an hour or two phoning around. At least one of the CS's in your area should have reasonable rates, even if it's an hour or two extra drive. You can save a ton of money.

Your problem here is your terminology.

The MEDICAL is not required if you did a medical less than a year ago. The VACCINATION TRANSCRIPTION should definitely not cost as much as you've mentioned, and it is perhaps that you keep referring to it as a MEDICAL rather than a simple vaccination transcription that you were quoted so much.

The vaccination transcription is what you described, but calling it a medical is WRONG and is most likely why you got that quote. Call again and tell them it's a "vaccination transcription" and see what they say.

Did you and your son have the medical exam in the Philippines? If yes, then you don't need to do the whole medical here. Just go to the CS to have your vaccination transcriptions. If your vaccinations are not yet complete, then let the CS do it... I still needed two more vaccinations when I came here (the Td and MMR) and only paid a total of $95.
