Can evidence of "Relationship" be added at Interview

From reading many of the posts it appears that the first part of the K1 process (the petition phase) only is looking for evidence that we have been together in the last two years and that evidence of a "relationship" is more important at the Interview phase.

Can additional evidence be provided at the Interview that is not included with the K1 petition package? If that is the case this gives us many additional months to collect and develop evidence of our intent to get married and our "relationship".

 And in fact, at many consulates, it's expected.

And from one country to another, what is considered to be 'evidence' differs. In many countries, cultural norms are expected to be strickly adhered to and the proof of relationship must meet these cultural norms. Check with others that have gone through South African interviews to see what they were expected to provide...

Yes you have read and comprehended correctly and exactly.

Proof of meeting with initial filing, proof of relationship at interview. Some folks do pre-load their filing with some relationship evidence (and at a few consulates this is madatory) but most just send it to the SO to bring to the interview.

just adding to this question... can the petiion be filed and evidence of meeting and relationship be added at the interview?

in other words, can we file petition strictly on online and telephone/video chat conversations? without having evidence of meeting personally?

You have to provide evidence of having met within the last 2 years with the initial petition. If not the petition more than likely be rejected.

No the instructions are very clear on how to file and what to include. No other options.

Actually the instructions state that you must have met in the two years preceding the filing UNLESS it;

A) Goes against long established social and cultural norms for your society and religion OR

B) The requirement to meet would prove to be an EXTRREME hardship.

I have never heard of anyone getting either of these waivers.

There is only one case I know of where the USC was medically unable to travel AND he had to prove that the fiance was unable to enter the US.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

I've seen 2 in the last 5 years that claim they made it without meeting in person. Both were medical.

You'd have to be very horny or hurting to marry without meeting.

Some are just looking for a 'free" caregiver.

in addition to what was said above,

I strongly suggest you prepare an 'evolution of relationship' letter, and get it notarized, get it into yer fiance's hands for Interview Day - he/she will hand it across the window to the VO.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Yes. Evidence of relationship is not needed for the petition.

NO!!!!!!! Evidence of meeting must be dated prior to the filing of the petition

Hello friends. The scenario is this one, the evidence is important; however, the interview is too. You are confirming in the interview what you have on your evidence; if you perform a bad interview, that does not mean that you are doing a fraud or whatever, but I think the credibility or your case is going to be on doubt. I always advice to everybody that goes to an interview on Inmmigration or any consulate or embassy, to use this keys. First of all, just answer exactly what they are questioning, do not respond more or less from what they are answering. It is useful to carry good evidence and many evidences; however, to carry too much evidence sometimes might be used as a knife against you! so, the officer or the person in the consulate has too much information that he has to question and discuss from. I like to tell this advice to all the people that I prepare for immigration interviews; so, the result of everything is clear: it is not only good evidence, neither little neither too much. This is important too: a good preparation for the interview. I would say everything is important! thanks and take care, I hope you the best of the luck for your process!
