It's almost 5pm and normally I'd be glad to go home after work.

But today I am not. In fact, I am dreading it.

There is a mouse in our house. I am terrified of rodents, no matter what their size and color. :(

This mouse ran right at me this morning when I was in the bathroom. I screamed in fright, which gave my husband a near heart attack. He slammed the bathroom door shut after seeing me leap into our bed for safety, but somehow the mouse disappeared. He didn't see it run out of the bathroom into our bedroom. There are no gaps in our bathroom walls or floor. I stayed on our bed until the very last second when hubby was ready to leave for work, then literally hopped out of our room.

This is the mouse' second appearance, btw.

He first revealed himself to my husband a month ago. Same drill - he ran right into the bathroom at my husband. Athough my sweetheart is not afraid of rodents, the #######'s sudden appearance made him jump.

We have tried the peanut butter trap. In fact, we left the trap in our room for almost 3 weeks. I threw it out last week because the oil from the peanut butter started to leak through the toilet paper roll. And the mouse never even made a guest appearance.

Please, please, please tell me what I should do. Hubby's going to order some humane traps, although I dunno how effective they'll be. They seem to belittle a rodent's cunning. I'm so scared. I'm scared of folding the laundry in our room tonight after dinner. I'm scared of going to use our bathroom. Worse, I hope I don't get so freaked out that I won't be able to sleep tonight.

And oh, I am also dreading waking up tomorrow morning.

:(

I don't know what to suggest to capture it.....just try to keep in mind it is way more frightened of you  Humane traps might do it......I used to keep rats as pets so I know how intelligent rodents can be.....

Good luck in your mouse hunting......

When I do good, I feel good; when I do bad, I feel bad, and that is my religion.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Just for you.....a humane way to catch a mouse .....Get an empty wine bottle, or a glass bottle of a similar size, it must be dry inside. Put a piece of chocolate or drizzle some chocolate sauce into the bottom of the bottle. (mice love chocolate  ) Now place the bottle near where mousey hangs out...prop it up so that its on a slant , not too much of a slant, mousey needs to get into the bottle to feast on that free chocolate !!! The thing is ,he will get in easily enough, but if the bottles slanted and dry he wont be able to get out again. I've used this method and it works a treat  You can release the mouse wherever you like. happy hunting !!

Aww I think they're cute :( I'd find a humane way of getting rid of it, they are definitely more scared of you than you are of them!

Since you dont have any rodents as pets you can actually get one of those rodent repelling devices. The emit a super high pitch sound that causes the rodents to leave your home. My parents did that and their mice went away and the dog never seemed to notice the sound so it shouldnt be a problem if you have other pets.

Hi Elen

In my humble opinion, a bit of chocolate chip cookie dough on a sticky trap - never missed yet.

Happy Hunting! I so empathize with you, by the way. I woud personally rather have a python in my house than a mouse. They freak me out completely.
