Question. There was an agency offered to complete I-485 and rest of the processes for my wife (K-1 visa). They want to charge a fee of $280. I don't want to pay so I will do it myself.

However, that agency initially asked me to bring one passport photo on me and one passport photo on my wife, as part of the required document. I-485 only mentioned for two passport photos on the K-1 visa holder (my wife). I was just wondering, did I miss out somewhere that I also have to submit my own passport photo as part of required supporting document somewhere? Or is this simply outdated requirement that the agency had?

Also, one last quick question, I only need to submit G-325A on my wife as part of I-485, that I don't have to submit my own G-325A, correct?

Thanks.

Correct on all parts. YOU are irrelevant (sad to say :P) except for your money. Your wife fills in all the paperwork, she needs pics of her (2 for the AOS, 2 for the AP, and 2 for the EAD) and she fills in the G-325A. You only complete the I-864 and it's supporting documents :) The rest is all her.

Good on you for choosing to do it yourself!

What's AP? So we need to submit in total of 6 pictures?

I-485- Adjustment of Status or AOS

I-131- Advance Parole or AP : this is used for international travel while AOS (Greencard) is pending

I-765- Employment Authorization Document or EAD : this is used for working while AOS (Greencard) is pending

If you are planning to apply for both AP and or EAD along with her AOS then you'll need a total of 6 passport pictures of your wife, 2 for each of the forms you are sending in. Recently USCIS changed the amount of G-325A to only 1, but we sent 4, for just in case.

If you need help with forms, have a look here
