Manila is considered a high fraud embassy so officer was probably concerned about "fishing" for a sponsor with all those accounts. Obviously your fiance was able to convince the officer. Congratulations on the visa

ok so I am happy Pam got the pink and everything but she was in there for 20 minutes answering questions about he myspace,tagged and friendster accounts? They asked her if she really wanted to be with me because of her accounts? Has anyone experienced that before or have any insite to why they would ask questions like that?

The CO's response is curious but maybe understandable depending on his reasoning. My fiance and I both have Facebook and Myspace. Her friends also have it as it well. Now the curious thing I noticed with some of her "married" and "engaged" friends is that they state "single" on their profile and they don't post photos of them with their SO. Some are married and living in the US and still list as single. My fiance has pics of us and states that she's engaged. But you know, if I were a CO and I seen a possible instance with a beneficiary and her Facebook says "single" and she has no pics of her with the man she wants to marry and spend her life with, then I would have a few questions for her. Not a decision dealbreaker but still.....the question of "do you really want him...or are you embarrased of your future husband would come to mind." Not saying that this is your situation at all!!! Just trying to understand why a CO might be looking at social networking sights.

But if I were a CO and some of my fiance's friends wanted a decision, I would definitely be asking them where is your husband in those 240 pics on your Facebook, some pics were taken last week on vacations (with their SO)??? Bikini shots by the beach and Filipino guys making comments....Things like that make you wonder a little. My fiance says it's nothing, it's just Facebook...but who knows?

I mean that the Embassy needs some up-to-date Consul Officers...COs from the 21st Century...COs who realize that people now use facebook and twitter...COs who don't give you a bad time for being modern. That's all.

I can understand that reasoning ....thank god she has pics of me all over them and stated she is engaged....but he was asking her why only girls as friends no guys and that is when she hit him with the "I have Charlie why talk to other guys I just want to make some girlfriends like sister for when I get there"

You know the more I think about it the more I believe this is a bit of a warning signal to some folks! Social networking sites are mainstream and can be used "for" or "against" you in future cases. I think it's important for folks to know their SO's social networking activities. These are now fair game for COs. It seems COs have loads of discretionary authority to delay cases based on any reason under the sun.

1. He could not find anything significant to hang her on...what's left...stress her on Social Networking sites.

I remember some earlier posts about a SO that was severly harassed that when they met on one of the Pinay Social Sites that is was not for relationships but only for girls looking for a quick visa to the States...

I am glad the fiance here had her senses about herself to reply respectfully, yet confidently. That is all it takes!
