When can you apply for citizenship again?

With a new baby and all the BS since 2008 with USCIS, we are taking things one step at a time!

I-751 Submitted August 2008

RFE Nov. 5, 2008 for incorrect fee

Nov. 6, 2008 Package returned to VSC with correct fee

NO COMMUNICATION FROM USCIS WHATSOEVER!

August 29, 2009 Letter of Intent to start removal proceedings

August 31, 2009 Letter and Phone with Congressman's office

Sept. 3, 2009 Infopass

Sept. 4, 2009 New I-751 submitted with another fee

Sept. 25, 2009 I-797C NOA received with 1 year extention dated Sept. 14, 2009

Oct. 2, 2009 NOA2 Biometrics Letter Appointment received

I know where Tracy is going with this. If you apply for it, I-751 should be expideted...

I understand the way things work. I appreciate the suggestions, but we are informed. However, I live in an area where a flimsy letter and an expired GC do not make it easy to get a job. I think he's the first immigrant to hit these mountains since the coal mines were dug up. He's been offered positions only to have employers back out. Quite frankly, supporting a household through a high risk pregnancy and now a newborn has been exhausting and I'm not willing to give them anymore of my HARD earned money or give myself another headache until the cough up the GC! Thanks though.

Mrs Whizz , did you get any updates on your case ?

Nothing yet. Delivery Confirmation says they received it on the 4th. So, hopefully soon. I did get a letter saying they had found my first payment and were going to issue a refund on that. At least that is something!:)

I guess that's exactly why I was thinking of applying for natz as soon as you're eligible (I'd think you are by now). Surely a natz certificate would be even less flimsy than a 10 year green card, right? I mean, unless you never wanted to naturalize in the first place - in which case I agree with you about not coughing up more money. But if you were going to anyway, than it's either spend it now or spend it later. Though maybe I think in too much black and white.

I am far more inclined to think about it now that I know they have "found" my lost fee! LOL.

That's excellent news!! Much better than hearing of you pounding a tree in frustration !!!

Please remember - there's a huge disconnect between the 'back room operations' and the untrained SERCO contractor that YOU will be talking to, on the telephone. It's a mess, won't get fixed this year (IMO).

Oh wait. Mimosa is a tree, also. NeverMind!!! ;)
