Just venting!

I have been beyond patient and calm with the I-751 process. My signature will back me up! But, I'm feeling very frustrated today. After going through a phone matrix longer than I labored with my son, I spoke to a representative to make sure our RFE had been received like Delivery Confirmation verifies. She asked my husband's permission to talk to me, but does nothing to verify his identity. Nothing! No A#, no SS# or even a middle name...She asked me when I sent it, I coughed up the date. BIG MISTAKE! She told me that she cannot answer any questions until after 60 days. I gave her a run down of just how long I have been waiting throughout this whole ordeal and simply wanted to ask if they had entered the record of the RFE receipt into their system. She would not answer my question and told me she could not give me any information. I asked to speak to a supervisor. She placed me on hold only to come back and tell me no supervisors were available. I asked if I could hold until a supervisor became available. At this point I was told that she was not permitted to put me on hold. Of course, I had to know why my tax dollars and immigration fees do not buy me hold time. After several uh's and obviously clueless stutters, the answer: "With all the recent refugees, our call volume is too large to allow you to hold." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I am all for a humanitarian effort, but that's like giving someone who has no clothing the shirt off your back and then complaining about your closet being down one shirt. Don't exploit that! So lame. I understand that I have to wait 60 days. Rules are rules. But I am so frustrated with them, I'm considering UK visas!

I think maybe another call to my senators office in is order!

Calling them is just a waste of time. Something similar happened to me, but a much less frustrating experience. The best thing is to do an infopass.

They have all the smart answers, don't they???!!!!!!

Did you have to pay twice for ROC?

We waited a bit longer than you for our ROC approval (and had no RFE's) - I'm thinking that if you sent the RFE response to the correct address and with the correct amount of postage, I'm sure they received it.

It does make you wish they didn't have to force-feed you the "60-day" canned answer though (seems a simple enough request to fill..but oh well).

Hang in there...

Sorry to hear about your ordeal , normally these morons never bother to update the case status , but if you check your case and see a soft LUD on your case , you can safely assume that they have received your RFE response..if you really want to be sure book an infopass appointment they will be abke to give you more information.. these customer service reps are hopeless and are good for nothing

I was so peeved I forgot about Infopass. Great advice. Thank you. After my mistake of not getting Delivery Confirmation with our 2nd attempt, to send this package resulting in having to send a 3rd package and a second fee, I suppose I'm a little paranoid about it. We also need to get another I-551 stamp once his passport arrives back from renewal at the embassy. Hopefully, that will be soon! Do I need to make two Infopass appointments or can I roll these two into one?

You are welcome , completely understand what you are going through , hope everything gets sorted out soon , just a reminder , when you book the Inforpass make sure your husband goes to the Infopass as well , otherwise it will be just a waste of time and will cause more frustration

If you dont mind sharing what was the RFE about ?

That's what is really crazy! Most of what they asked for had already been sent:

-They asked for Tax Records. (I sent copies/W2s for the I-751 and then IRS transcript for the RFE)

-Joint Accounts & Ownership (Sent it the first time! But, ate the humble pie and sent more)

-Children (Son was not yet born at the time of I-751 filing. Sent Birth Certificate w/ RFE)

-Proof of Co-Habitation (Sent US leases/receipts/bills the first time. Sent back US and UK along with every single piece of junk mail or official letter I could find w/ RFE)

Though it probably wasn't necessary, I also threw in more affidavits.

Ok if I understand correctly you sent in copies of ur tax return ,w2 when you filed your 751 but did not send in the transcripts from the IRS

When you replied to the rfe you included the transcripts , correct ?

I think that was the reason you received the rfe , but now since you have included everything you should be fine

You are correct! I sent the copies and W2s with the I-751 and then IRS Transcripts with the RFE. Thanks for the vote of confidence! I hope so. I'm ready to put this behind us!

I also forgot to mention that the representative told me most RFEs were processed within 14 days. You know I rolled my eyes and thought "sure lady...I'll call you again in 60 days!" at that one!!!

Your post is well written, which implies that you are an intelligent person. As such, you need to understand that human drones, as the one you encountered at your phone conversation, are like trained monkeys. They push either the red or the green button, as that's what they've been trained for. A complete waste of time trying to explain to the drone your case, as she the piece of paper she had in front of her said: "Waiting time 60 days" which wasn't met by you. Thus, she pressed the red button. You can talk to people, make your case, plead, cry, scream, but you can't influence a drone.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

LOL! Thanks for the laugh! At a certain point, let's say about when I was put on hold to be told I couldn't be put on hold, part of me just wanted to keep her on the phone as long as possible. But, other folks need answers. So......

While I'm at it, I just love that the LUD on the USCIS website still says Initial Review and last touched 10/12/09. I'm even more fond of the abrupt way the recording says, "We received your petition on 9/?/09. At this time, there is no further information regarding your case. Goodbye. Click. Dead." It always results in a few expletives!
